It had been quite some time since Elwan last had a dinner guest. Needless to say he was rather excited to have Miss S"Jira over. He sat at his desk chewing on his pen thinking hard on the Menu for the evening. He only had a few days to prepare after all and what if some of the dishes required advanced preparation' The major problem was that there were just so many choices. Sure he could always make a pie. He was a baker after all, but pie was hardly the only food in the world and he baked so many of them every day. No".that would not do. He put the pen to paper and began scribbling down the menu
First Course
Blackberry Scones with Honey butter Glaze

Strawberry Caprese Salad with Mint Pesto

Elwan liked the idea of using quail for the main dish. It was easy to get a hold of, not too big and quite tasty when properly prepared.
S?Jira said that she would bring some sort of sweet treat so he didn't bother planning out a dessert

Hot Black Tea Ale non-alcoholic Apple Cider Coffee Mulled Cider with Spices
Variety was the spice of life and he wanted to have a good selection of beverages, however S'Jira had made it clear that she did not drink so he made certain to have some alcohol free choices.

With his menu done Elwan jotted down a list of ingredients and went to the market.
Many of the ingredients were out of season, but Rhy'din being what it is, most anything could be had at any time if you just looked hard enough. It took Elwan a couple of days going to the different markets to get everything. For the halfling, it really was quite the adventure and by Tuesday he had everything he needed in order to prepare the meal.
It was time to put the house in order.

Elwan looked around the house, reasonably satisfied that he would be able to pull off the dinner. He sat down in his favorite chair and grabbed the book he was reading and promptly fell asleep.
