A large poster has been placed on the main board outside of the Red Dragon Inn:
The May Queen (or Queen of May) will preside over the Beltane festivities. The Queen is supposed to symbolize purity, strength, and the potential for growth in the coming season. Some even believe that she is the goddess of spring incarnate for the night! Since virgins are rare creatures and RhyDin and we do not readily have a unicorn to lure one out, we are forgoing that requirement for the Queen.
The Queen will be responsible for beginning the revelries of the night and lighting the main fire. She will also need to pick a man of her choice to be king (representative of the Green Man) who will aid her in leading the dancing around the fire and general merriment of the night.
