Dalia's underling had called her immediately, and she had come. Yes, there she was, just as the imp had said. Valentine De'laCroix, crying, and visiting her friend.
Dalia watched from the shadows of the mausoleum, willing herself to be neither seen, smelled, or heard. A grim smile settled on her lips as she watched the girl jabber away, oblivious to the fact she'd just given Dalia a wonderful idea for revenge.
Madame Dalia waited in the wings, lurking until Val finally left. She crept over to the tomb and called her Master, the demon Bill.
Appearing in a sulferous, putrid cloud of smoke was Bill's secretary and minion, Felhas, the one that had done the dirty work to bring her back. She sighed, annoyed. "Where's Bill" I need his help."
"Bill is otherwise occupied, but he sent me along to insure you that he will be around as soon as possible. I am to help you, if I can." The minor demon looked a bit pissy.
She lofted a brow, smirking. "He sent you to tell me he was busy' Does he do that often?"
"No." To the point, yes, this one was angry. He was frustrated and confused, as well. Bill never jumped at the bidding of a living soul, human, vampire, or otherwise. There was something wrong with his boss, and he was afraid he knew what it was. Love, or something like it. It was a dangerous thing, and until just now, he hadn't realized that it may be just the opening he needed to overtake "Bill", and win his freedom! He smiled then, suddenly, all pointy teeth and oozing charm. "No, he doesn't. My Lady Dalia has captured the heart of our Master, it seems. What can I do for you in his place, Madame Blackthorne?"
She smirked at this, liking the sound of what he was insinuating. Call and Bill would come running, eh' Good. It was what she was used to. Dalia had always felt that she was superior to everyone, and it was generally only a matter of time before most men and women came running when she called.
"Open this tomb. Carry the body for me, back to my place." Turning her back on the demon, she headed out of the cemetary, assuming that her will would be done and the deed accomplished without her having to lift a finger or say another word.
Felhas, figuring that this woman may be the key to his own freedom and perhaps becoming a Master himself, did as was ordered. He'd do her bidding, for now, awaiting the time when he could use Bill's weakness against him.
The tomb was attacked immediately by a gang of imps, you didn't think Felhas would actually do the work himself, did you? He had some power over others, and he used it. The tomb was shattered, the exquisitely and perfectly preserved body of Chiana Vitrano was exumed, and carried off to Dalia's Dark Side.
