A small smirk graced his face as he watched the images of him with Serena and her family. The family ate together, smiling and laughing. Shade actually joined in the festivities this evening. A small twinkle in his onyx eyes as Serena's slender fingers wound their way into his hands throughout the night.
As the night wore on and the dishes were cleared away Serena made her way over to Shade, wrapped her arms about his waist before leaning in close to his ear, and whispering "Shade" Why don't you play something for us" I would love to hear you play again?" he smiled down at her and gave her lips a quick peck. "Anything for you my lovely Serena" he replied as he reached out his arm towards a shadow that he had spotted in a corner of the room where the light did not overpower. A guitar came from the shadow and Shade placed its strap over his head and began to strum lightly upon the strings of the strange guitar. As his fingers danced upon the guitar's strings, the strings responded to his every touch, the notes moving and bending to his will.
While he played for Serena and her family, he noted that a few whispers were being carried and spotted those that had been whispering. It was Serena's brother, Arthur, who was whispering to her Father. Though he could not quite make out what was being said he could tell that it was not good yet he did not show that he knew this upon his face as he continued to smile at the others who were listening to his playing. Especially at Serena, who sat there with wide eyes and the smile of a star struck lover. A small smirk played at Shade's lips as if he had remembered some joke that no one else would get.
As he finished playing, most of Serena's family clapped and applauded as he let his guitar disappear once again into the shadows. He stood and bowed to them all "Thank you very much." As he turned around, he caught a glimpse of Serena and made his way over to her. She had been standing there with her back to him now and he came up immediately behind her, placing his hands on her hips. His lips brushing against the nape of her neck as he spoke quietly so only she could hear. "Serena?" his breath was warm against her skin as his voice sounded like melted chocolate in her ears "why don't we find somewhere to celebrate in our own way?" His lips pressed against her skin as he kissed her neck, knowing that doing this with her family nearby would cause her to blush. A playful smile coming to his lips as he continued to kiss along her neck "Hmmm?" He heard her gasp at his touch at first then giggle very softly, "I know just the place," she whispered to him "come with me.?
