A figure stood amongst a sea of sand, a dot of black surrounded by golden yellow that burned the eyes with a snow-white spot in the middle of it. Upon closer inspection, the dot was a man approximately six feet and three inches tall. He wore a very weathered black jacket with a black t-shirt. Upon his legs was a pair of black jeans that fit close to his skin. To most people, his clothing would make the heat of the desert unbearable, however not to him. This man, this being, was comfortable. His blood was finally not cold. Yes, this being, is not human. This is the demon known simply as Shade. As Shade stood there, his long white hair falling down into his face as the wind blew across the empty desert, his black eyes simply scanning the sky. His eyes were so black that as he observed the Sun, no light reflected from them. "I'm sorry",? he whispered, his voice trailing into the wind. In his mind, he saw those he had left behind, those that he had betrayed, and those that he had hurt. He saw the faces of the women he had been with and the few who he had actually loved.
