Juliane wiped the last bit of dribbled shellac from the wooden sandwich board and stood back to inspect her handiwork. The printer had been kind enough to reset the presses to produce not only the flyers for The Post, but two large enough for her to use in her sidewalk display.
The air was cool and fresh, but the sun provided a comforting warmth as she stood out back and read over the information for the thousandth time.
Green eyes scanned the clear sky, a smile on her lips. No chance of rain meant she could leave it out to dry properly overnight. Twirling the paintbrush in her hand, she used the wooden handle to hammer the lid back onto the varnish can. The odor seemed to cling to her clothes, so instead of heading through the gallery, she climbed up the fire escape to the window she'd left open in her apartment.
She had just enough time to shower and change before her meeting to drop off the payment to the printer and pick up the finished products.
