They say that through destruction, new life, a living orgasm can be born through the rubble. Like a phoenix, born from the ashes. Like a wildfire, consuming and eating a forest. One sprout can push through, a new beginning from the catastrophe. Creation, rebirth. The Natural Order.
"Don't forget the Stars."
She didn't remember the plummet. Spindly, coiled limbs wrapped in a safety blanket of pure, uncontainable energy. Galaxy eyes kept squeezed shut against the lashes taken from twilight hair that spun, lashed, moved through the wind like a living creature atop her head. Close your eyes, it'll be over before you know it. The airy, whispery tones of a woman's voice rattled inside her head, heard over the rushing and crushing of the fall. Curling into a ball of flesh and energy, like a fetus inside of a womb, her fingers sunk into the soft flesh of bruising biceps.
Falling farther and farther, holding a breath she didn't need as the Earth's crust drew closer and closer. Keep your eyes shut, it's almost over. The anticipation summoned a soft whimper from her lips, her eyelids crinkling with the effort to keep them shut tight. If she curled into a ball any further, she'd swear her spine would snap under the pressure.
And then it happened. The drop, the climax of the plummet that cratered the Earth in a spray of dust and debri. A meteor drop that was indistinguishable to the naked eye as anything but, a light burning bright against the night sky.

Thomas saw the meteor hit in the distance from his set up on a tall hill, sprawled on a blanket set against the damp grass. A way to pass time on sleepless nights, the man had been enjoying the twinkling of stars, one occasionally shot through the sky before it burned out and disappeared. This, however, was something different. He could see it coming from the hill, the smoldering ball that had broke through the atmosphere's barrier and was rocketing down toward the Earth.
As it neared, his shoulders pulled away from the blanket in his ascent to sitting up, eyes wide and mouth agape to the meteor that shot toward the Earth. Past a thin lining of trees that broke the field, he scrambled his lanky frame to his feet and took off at a full sprint. If anyone was going to discover this meteor first, it would be him. Running, and nearly tumbling down the hill like Jack from that old nursery rhyme, he let out a grunt as his long legs almost entangled and betrayed him. Catching his balance, he skidded toward the base of the hill and through the field toward the crater. His smile was etching high on his clean shaven cheeks, anticipation and curiosity twinkling in his eyes at the endless possibilities. The unknown data of space...What if I discover something new" I could be marked in history. I could get an award for my discoveries" Recognition in the scientific community, his utmost goal.
As he came up on the crater, with the dust slowly dissipating from the impact and the smoke clearing, the tree branches closest to the crater smoldering from the burning comet. Bending at the waist as he climbed the ridge of the crater. He was panting in short, clipped breaths as his muscles threatened to give up on him. He was a scientist, not an athlete of any caliber. Gripping the edge of the gaping hole in the ground, he peered slowly over the edge, squinting through the settling dust in the air.
".....What the?" He whispered, awestruck at what he discovered in that crater. "No?" His eyes dragged up to the sky, with the twinkling stars that the darting meteor had plummeting in a searing bright ball of flame toward the ground. "That's impossible," he whispered, lowering his eyes to the being centered in the crater. Realizing then, he winced. She's dead" there's no way she could survive that.. And that was when the panic began to set in.

The She in question stirred. Nude flesh still coiled into a ball, scorched but unharmed against the heat of the impact and drop, leaving streaks of dust and dirt, debri from the collision of body and Earth.
Open your eyes, it's over.

"No, no, no?" Thomas whispered over and over, his hands lifting to each side of his head as it shook back and forth. This was not the kind of discovery he wanted to find. A dead body wasn't what he wanted to be remembered for. It was the stirring of the being at the base of that crater that had him stilling completely, oceanic blue against the twilight hour orbs that locked onto his. The meeting stole his breath as panic turned to pure shock. "She's" she's alive.."
