He kept it secret long enough. After all, when the Ferris wheel goes up, and the bungee jumping platform is erected, it won't be very long, indeed, before someone wanders by and says "Hey, what?s that?" Then everyone will know for sure.

He wandered the grounds, speaking with an old friend, Zarabeth Toscano, a wyldemage with a penchant for extravagant magics. They were inspecting the rides and contracted booths who were going to set up for the 20th of January's Carnival.

They had tried out the cotton candy, and some of the greasier foods, and made sure that the bumper cars and mini-roller coasters were completely safe.

"Are you sure that noone will get hurt?" G asked Zara.

"Oh, completely, Gnorty! No accidents will occur while my spells hold. It's just for about Seventeen hours though. I can't guarantee their effects after that. Results could be unexpected. And it will start at Nine in the morning on the day of the Carnival, so, you should be okay!" Zara responded cheerfully enough.

Gnort nodded and smiled, watching the Ferris Wheel go up. They stood there silently for a few minutes when suddenly, one of the workers slipped on a loose rod, causing him to lose his balance and fall from a height of about thirty feet.

Gnort gasped suddenly "Oh my god!"

Zara just smiled. "Just watch."

The worker hit the ground with a sickening thud, causing Gnort to cringe and look away. Then one of the foremen called out to the fallen worker "You need to be more careful, that's the third time today!"

G blinked and looked to where the man fell, and he was slowly rising, brushing himself off and looking sheepishly to the foreman. "Sorry!"

G looked back to Zara, who wore am expression of smugness. "You see?"

"What?" he said, blinking.

"Completely positive side effect of the wards I've placed on things here. Not only is the equipment safe and secure, but also people. They don't get hurt. It oughta make the more violent games a bit more interesting, I think. Like the Gladiator ride? I got the ideas from your Arena area."

"I'm more concerned with the children eating too much candy and throwing up everywhere." G laughed, a sizable amount of concern about the carnival being lifted off his shoulders with the revelation of safety.
