Ashe

It was cold out but a bit of anger still burned in his belly from the night before. He hadnt completely let go of what had happened in the inn. A woman desiring affection and him not being able to because of certain thoughts.

He pulled his cloak around him as he pressed through the empty streets trying to find himself a secluded place. The thief could escape public eye but he could not escape his own mind.

"Kav...James..." he muttered to himself and turned another corner.

The reason he hadnt been able to give the woman whatever affection she desired was because of a wife and child long gone, taken into slavery while he was away in town. He had never quite been able to say he was not responsible for that. He should have been there. But when Ashe got home, all he saw was the wheels tracks from a caravan wagon.

And for a long time after that, he turned to the bottle as his only escape. Ashe had lay many nights drunk and alone, fighting both the demons in his heart and anyone who crossed his alcohol fueled anger. But he had beat that, he was better than that. Last night though, he nearly fell back to old way if not for the saving grace of a woman who spoke not a word.

He sighed as he stopped in front of a tall wall and then with the use of a few loose and broken stones, he crawled his way atop it. He looked down, realizing that twenty feet was a bit higher when looking down. He seemed fearless of the fall though as he unclasped his cloak and let the wind carry it away. Beneath, he wore his best clothes. A gray shirt under a black tunic bearing a depiction of a great dragon with pants to match. A slender sword was belted to his side.

He took the sword from it's hilt reading the inscription to himself

Demons breath and tears of the Saints, The Dark Sky brings the storm

Drawing in a deep breath of cold wintry air, Ashe began to fight with nothing more than the night. His anger was released with each step and swing, his balance more than showing off as he stepped carelessly on the thin wall knowing there could be a nasty fall to either side.

And so he danced through the night, would anyone see?
