The cold weather had been keeping most of the sailing vessels moored in the harbor, which made the appearance of a wandering ketch at the mouth of the harbor all the more a unusual sight. Her shrouds tattered, and frayed flapped lazily in the morning breeze, her lines fouled pulling the small merchant vessel in ever widening turns to starboard. Captain Stephen Kidd and the crew of the Pride and Fury put out to tow the vessel to docking. The condition of the vessel suggested that she had been adrift for atleast a week or more. Her main deck was completely frozen over, with spars and the bow spirit snapped from the wieght of the accumulated ice. The ships lone long boat was found still strapped midships, yet all save one of her crew gone. The lone sailor found on board was below deck in the cargo hold far to the bow of the ship, found curled in a fetal position. He was well dead of course the cause unclear, one would of course assumed he had froze to death, yet upon closer inspection Stephen found that the man had clawed at the planking of the ship in such a manner as to leave deep gouges in the wood as well as tearing every nail from his fingers. A curious development it was, almost as if there had been something frightening the lad. Once moored at the docks Stephen is currently inventoring the hold, and has refused the harbor master access to the vessel claiming it as his own under the maritime laws.
