Jucath - Homeworld of Taneth.
"She is dead," said the old woman. "There is nothing left of her; nothing substantial enough to sustain you as she did, my lord."
"How can she be dead" She was to last many more years until the others had grown enough," the lord replied with a grim expression.
"I had the connection to her but something, or someone, broke it."
"Who could have done it?"
The woman turned to look out the window and in her mind she simply saw a limp, empty body. There was no color and no life; the blonde hair, the blue eyes, the rosy cheeks, and the bright smile were gone. She turned back to look at the lord seated stiffly in his chair. He was not pleased with the current news.
"She was surrounded by those few who do not have such power in them. I have only seen this once"with the elder," the old woman spoke quietly and almost cautiously as if she would raise the dead by speaking of any one being.
"Tell me."
"She gave the energy of her life to another of her choosing. There is nothing left to keep her in this world."
