It hadn't started easy, and it seemed at times life was bent on getting harder. Sam was finding life in this strange place had one twist after another.

He had decided, after that conversation with the Splendiferous Lady in the Inn, that what he wanted, right now, was to find a vocation within this land. After that, maybe he'd try to find a way home. Maybe not. That all depended.

And after that conversation, he'd decided that what he really wanted was to indulge his inner flutist. He'd played off and on since elementary school, never great enough to be tapped for Juliard or any other training, but never really bad. With enough practice, he might have made it to an orchestra, but he never had enough practice.

Here, though....Rhy'Din (that's what they told him the place was called) had no television or internet or radio to distract him. So he walked to the Marketplace as the Splendiferous Lady had suggested, and used some of his thin supply of coins to buy a flute. Not a good one, not a bad one, just an average one.

Now he was set. He'd practice and play for those in the Inn, hoping for donations to get him enough for a place to sleep and food, and maybe enough to save a bit. Yes, that was his desire right now.
