"Thisbe, you have greatly shamed us. We must ask you to leave."

"Is it so wrong to question what we know" The old times are gone" all has changed. Should we not be concerned with the signs we have been shown?"

"We have been ordered by our gods to not do anything. This is meant to pass."

"Spilled blood and broken vows"!" That is what is meant to pass! I cannot trust that our gods would wish that for our people."

"You are no longer one of us. You have disgraced our name"No longer shall we speak your name" you no longer blaze with the god's favor."

Her breath came out in a rush of air as her arms were seized. Despite herself and her quiet ways of discipline and respect to the order and way of their beliefs she found herself fighting against the grip of those she once had known as sisters, as friends, as mothers, as elders" the priestess" of the temples had turned from her.

When she struggled to the point of dishonor and disgrace the less merciful of the elders struck her until she fell to her knees. The thick black of her hair taken roughly in their hands as they completed the ritual that would mark her as disgraced and unknown in their eyes.

To mark her as one that had fallen from the gods favor.

Rich black that once had spilled to her thighs was now a shorn wild mess cropped close to her skull, leaving her to appear no longer as priestess but as an androgynous vision of the abandoned.

The tears would sting those blue eyes as she touched to the solitaire braid of black left behind. Those tears would not fall until she had left the temple.

Never would those tears fall even when she found herself alone in a new world in which she was as nameless and unknown as her sisters had planned her to be.

The unknown savage world where the peace and nature of her gods went unheeded? a place where she no longer heard the voice of her gods in her ears. She had gone far past the reach of their voice to her ears.

Thisbe had found herself on the Road that led to Rhy'din.
