Medina held the bundle of cotton against her bosom, snow white tresses spilling down her back in wild waves with cerulean strands weaved through. Her mouth opened and she smiled, both sets of canines were sharp as though filed to a point. Eyes rested on the baby's face and she absorbed the pudgy cheeks and the innocent rounded visage. Green orbs with drops of gold in them were fixated on the bundle in her arms that was so hard to part with. "Nance, you'll raise her properly. Won't you?"

"Of course," the man had to agree as he knew how troubling this all was for the woman. "Alexandrite will be taken care of," he attempted to reassure her while he stroked at his black mustache. His hair was of the same shade, cropped short how he liked it. His attire was inferior to that of the one in front of him by far. Her in a forest green gown of silk and him in black trousers and a blue tunic of cotton. He pushed wardrobe choices to the back of his mind as he retreived the bundle from his previous mate.

Medina leaned forward to press plush crimson lips to the baby's forehead before she took her leave. The child and the man were not to return with her and as a result, she felt her insides twist with her depression.

Nance held the child close to him, holding the map out for him to follow. The roads were barren of people as he walked onwards. It would be some time before he reached his destination.
