Aeden was doing his rounds. Walking along the outer wall. He had sent several scouts parties out into the forests. He heard a loud cry of some kind when the only surviving scout was stumbling back through the gates.

"They are coming!" The scout fell to his knees and soon fell to the ground dead. Several arrows in his back. Aeden ordered the bell to be rung and the gates bared. All but the main gate was to be sealed. Covered from both sides by stones to prevent entry. He went to his families shrine and knelt before the alter.

"My ancestors hear me. We have defended this village all our lives. Release the sword of our family to me. To do so once again."

The stone slowly released the blade. The enchantment the Dwarves put upon the stone was amazing some times. He took the blade in hand and felt its power. The Silverite runes started to glow upon the touch of his hand.

He lead his personal men back to the main gate and had the archers preparing. He could see fires in the distance. They were burning their way through the land. He gripped the blade tightly. All who looked at it knew what it was. He raised his arms and let out a loud long yell. It echoed long after he had stopped. "Soldiers of Tiberithus. Do not let them break these walls."

The banner of the city was taken down from the others gates signalling they were closed off and were no longer able to be used. He had the one over the main gate raised. "We will hold this city. They will not bleed further into our lands!" The lord of the city was evacuated when the scout returned. Him and the entire family to the capitol. The archers made their bows ready and held for his orders. He had his mother and father, little brother and sister. And even his young wife, barricaded in the barracks and guarded by a detail of honor knight.

He walked down the stairs of the gate and stood in the front line with his men. He crouched and held his shield tightly. His men were edgy, twitchy, worried about being able to win. He held his sword up for word from the archers, he was given the signal they were closing in. He stabbed his blade into the ground and that told them to fire at will.

The monsters charged the doors with swords, spears, hammers and axes. A large Ram was rolled to the gates door. He put his helmet on and pulled his blade from the ground. He yelled and charged the moment the gates exploded into splinters. Monsters poured in and hell upon spears and swords. The heavier knights charged with their axes and hammers. Slamming and slicing the monsters around, but they were outnumbered and were unable to hold them off.

Aeden had charged as far into the lines as he could. After seeing them part around him to engage his forces was when he realized they were losing. He ran back to try to rally his men, what little he could. He barred himself and his men in the castle courtyard and was worried. "Get those gates barred and blocked. Anyone not helping look for a way out." He sat on a barrel and placed his hands on his head. His sword stabbed in the ground between his feet and shield beside it. What had he done.

The gates they barred on the first day did not hold. He had them retreat back farther until they had to hold the palace itself. Only one entrance to get into which had heavy archers and ballista battery. He was swinging his sword and shield around slamming and slicing the monsters to pieces.

The other knights joined the fray outside the gates. Archers plucking some of the larger leader class monster off one by one. The only thing that gave them a problem were the ones using magic. Aeden looked around as he panted, they could hold the gates, mages healing the wound as they were rotated out once healed. Even a few smiths trying to keep weapons and armor together.

He was sure they could hold since the beasts stopped attacking during the night, odd for a force that doesn't eat or sleep.

Fiery eyes watched from afar as Hurlock and Genlock besieged the town. Great Ogres hurling stone and bodies to disrupt fortified groups. Yes, there was much blood to praise the Archdemon. Nostrils flare at the screams in the air amid the carnage...but this must be savored. There must be prizes taken for the Broodmother.

"Tell the troops to pull back..lull them into a false sense..." it motioned to the nearest Emissary to send the order.

Without a word the Hurlock left with a small company of it's fellows for the town a large hungry grin across its face. "This is gonna be fun," its departing response as a company of 15 Ogres joined ranks to give the knights at the gate some...trouble.

A scout in the top tower gasped and ran down as fast as he could. Sliding in front of the Commander. "Ogres...Coming this way."

Aeden growled and gripped his blade. "Get those Ballisats loaded, wait for the ogres to arrive. Archers fired all the arrows they had trying to kill the remaining monsters at the gates. Aeden had them reinforce the gate and have a crate of fresh arrows brought up from the armory.

The other Knights scrambled and grabbed everything to bar the doors. Aeden looked over his weary men and shook his head. He took off for the Royal Vault, he had a key to it being Knight Commander.

He walked into the vault. It held four things from a past king. A set of armor. A sword. A shield with a griffin em-blazed in the center...And a Winged helmet. He slowly put the armor on and felt the strength f those who wore it long before. He walked back, sword and shield in hand, the men cheered and raised their swords seeing such a sight in battle after all these years.
