Time. It is something that matters not to her. Even as the years pass and the body ages, time has no meaning to her. She remembers when she first became timeless. All the sorrow, rage, and bitterness that accompanied it. Sorrow over seeing her loved ones die. Rage over what was done to her and she viewed it was a curse. Then it all turned into bitterness. However, she has learned to accept the fate bestowed upon her and no longer fights against it. She welcomes it with open arms. If she wasn't blessed or cursed with such a gift she might not have had the chance to have all of the experiences she's had. She wouldn't have had the chance to meet him.

He, was like her, simply timeless. Time had lost meaning for the both of them long ago. There was no rushing. No hurrying. No haste in their actions, feelings, or affection for one another. It was a rather huge relief to her. She was tired of walking across the planes alone never changing while those around her aged and perished. Had she finally found the one to walk this path with her" To take this never ending journey hand in hand" She certainly hoped so.

What was time when one was a Timelord? Just something to be played with' An item to be kept secret' No it was nothing so important. It passed and people were lost. Even his own people were lost now. He'd stayed away from Rhy'Din so long because he'd gotten bitter. Then the bitterness had faded again. That was why he had come back. That and there was one person he couldn't leave behind. Couldn't let the darkness that time eventually brought envelope her. No, he had to go back because he couldn't stay away.

To him she was unique. She was something he could care for. He didn't have to worry about losing her to the flow of time. Time was basically still for the two of them. It was great to feel this way. It was something to care about life for again. It meant he didn't have to watch as everyone else around him died. He was sure that there could be others that he could meet, though she was the only important one. He would choose no one else to be with.

She still remembers when they first met as if it was yesterday. Though to them it might as well have been. It was all Hallows Eve and there was a party. Yet she didn't have a date. It was a very rare instance that Darcy would show up to a public event without her being on someone's arm. So, in a last ditch desperate effort she scoured the Inn for a date. That is when she met him. A few words were exchanged however the decision was made. Her, having been in Rhy"Din for a while saw it as a perfect opportunity for a new friendship and to show him around Rhy"Din.

It's funny how things turned out. After that night of the Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat hanging out she felt something deep within herself for him. Call it a spark, a connection, or intuition. Whatever it was she liked it. And so her mood changed for the better. Brightening up every time she saw him. Now there was always a song in her heart and a spring in her step. No longer in the doldrums with the knowledge of being timeless and alone he made the fire within her burn bright.

She had fallen so many times only to have her heart broken every single time. It didn't matter whose fault it was it just kept happening. Like a broken record or a song on eternal repeat. The same ol" song and dance. She was tired of it. She didn't want it anymore. Which is why she was so hesitant to open up her heart fully and let him in. The fear of history repeating itself no matter how hard she tried to change it was overwhelming. For all she knew he didn't even feel the same way. Though, was it necessary for ones such as them to utter those three little words" Was it something that had to be spoken between the both of them' Or would those simple gestures, tone in words, and facial expressions be enough' She didn't know and this was the one thing that was holding her back and the one thing that did make her feel lost.

Memories before Rhy'Din were a constant threat to his happiness, but as long as he had her jumping on him every time she saw him he could be fine. He could live yet another day without any regrets. That first day had been a good one. He'd never been one to dress up, but that Cheshire Cat costume had, in a way, changed his life. There was still fear though. The fear of being dropped like yesterdays paper. The fear of being old news and no longer good. The fear that he wasn't quite enough, but he was trying. He was trying so hard to show her that she meant something to him. The yearning never stopped. Her smile was a warm summer breeze across his lips. Her caress was a light rain that was so refreshing. So why could he not utter those three syllables? Fear....The fear of being unaccepted.

It was odd that one who had lived so long could fear just three words, but he had to say them. He had told her his true name after all. That was as good as saying them, but putting them out would mean no turning back. Not that that was a bad thing. Unless she did not want those three words uttered within hearing distance of her. Not from him. Not from this odd man of many names. Who was he, but an abuser of identity. Perhaps he just didn't deserve her, but he hoped he did. He'd lived long enough to know what it felt to love. And this feeling was akin to that.

It was stupid really. Why was it that he could trust her with his True Name and nature yet she couldn't do the same" What did that say about her" The ice around her heart that had formed after years of heartache had begun to melt because of him. So why couldn't she tell him' Was it fear of rejection' Fear that because names held such weight and power he'd abuse it' Every single reason she came up with seemed irrelevant and unnecessary.

So she did the only thing she knew how to do. She told him. No, scratch that. She not only told him but showed him. Whilst he was having a peaceful moment of Oolong tea Darcy showed her true colors. If he really meant the way he felt this would be the ultimate test. If his feelings were genuine he wouldn't reject her for what she was.

It was a big risk doing such a thing. For all she knew he could have ran away. Shattering her heart into a million pieces. The pieces lost between the cracks never to be recovered. However, that wasn't what had happened. He didn't reject her for what she was. His words comforted her that he wouldn't abuse her true name. And it was in that moment she let the last pieces of ice melt away allowing herself to be loved by another and in turn loving that person. All doubts washed away she fully trusted her heart in his hands. Trusting and knowing he wouldn't destroy it like the others before him had.

Just before he'd had his tea he had been in his TARDIS fixing things up. He'd been thinking of Darcy and the possibility of vacation. He wanted to fix up a room just right for when that happened, but he had taken a break and he had went to get Oolong tea at the White Lotus Pavilion. The sound of trouble outside had alerted him that something was up. He definitely had to go check it out. It wasn't like him not to.

That was when he had seen Darcy for all she was. He'd been slightly horrified, but that was only at first glance. He couldn't look at Darcy and feel even a sliver of fear because of the way he felt about her. So as she'd come back he had hugged her and accepted her. That was all there was to it. You accept those you love for who they are and he truly loved Darcy. She was the other half of his soul. She was all he cared about and he wouldn't run her away with rejection. So as he'd held her he let her know how much she meant to him. It was that simple. No difficulties would lie in his path as he told her that he loved her.
