The ballot boxes (be they found at the bar of the Red Dragon Inn, near the fountain at the Market Place, near a hologram lit terminal at Star's End Spaceport, beside a hot cider stand in the Marketplace or near a stately Tea House in Mount Yasuo) were all or relatively modest affair. Painted a light, wintery blue, decorated in silver snowflakes. One was marked QUEEN and the other KING in shimmery blue hand-painted lettering.
The modest appearance and very simplified manner of handing quill, pen, pencil and scraps of paper out for voters to scratch their favorite name down might seem rather backward—but security and concerns of ensuring the vote was, at least, done correctly was anything but modest.
Tinkering with the ballot boxes could net nasty surprises and incur the unholy pink wrath.
Citizens of RhyDin all over were openly encouraged to vote for themselves or their favorites—but were only given two scraps of paper—one for Queen, one for King
