**Entering Rhydin she looked all about. Granted she had just come from another realm...but surely Christmas was celebrated here as well" While the shoppe's did seem full in the Marketplace, there were no decorations in the square. She had hoped to buy a small Christmas tree. She didnt even see anyone selling them. She would go out to the Rhydin Forest herself and cut down a small fir and drag it home. Perhaps making a wreath or two out of it.

She left without any notice. Not that she had any real friends to speak of anyway. She had only recently got here when she had to go back "home". To care for her elderly great-Aunt. Now that she had passed and she had taken care of the few belongings she had, selling them...so she would have some form of security, as her business hadn't taken off. She notices there was a few other seamstress' in towne. Perhaps she should consider another job. Either way she had enough money to live comfortable to live on for awhile.

First course of business was to find another flat. She thought about the Westend, but decided against it. Too far, for a woman in the winter with no horse. No something in Rhydin Proper. As the coach pulled into the main square stopping to let her out, she asked about places to live. If she could, she wished to get a flat with a fireplace, or coal stove at least. He referred her to the newspaper. The Oracle...if anyone would know they would.

He proceeded to unload her baggage and a trunk, letting it down with a thud. She lifted a brow at him. "Sorry M'Lady hopes ya dinna have any thing valuble in thar". Katie stared at him saying nothing. He put out his hand for a tip, as she already paid the fare to Rhydin. She gave him 2 silver. He sort of frowned, till she replied calmly..."Sir perhaps we should open the trunk and check for damages, and if there is any, you would have to pay for it, as the trunk was still in your care, no?" Slapping his cap back on his head, he said not a word, and stomped off mumbling.

Katie was back in Rhydin. This was when she would decide whether or not she would stay for good, or go back to the realm from which she just came. Catching a young boy by the arm she offered to pay him good money to sit ON her bags and watch them, till she returned. He gladly accepted her offer...pushing away the other boys are they too tried to sit on the bags. "SHE ASKED MAE!" Shaking her head, seeing he was doing a good job of it, she walked into the first shoppe she saw.~~

***It took her the better part of the day but she was able to find a small cottage that was empty. It was located just inside of Rhydin Forest, and while she didnt see the woman who owned it, the man who rented it to her, told her so long as she did the upkeep on it, she could reside there.

***Katie couldn't have been happier. She had some funds but not having to pay rent, having an entire forest surrounding her...WITH an apple orchard" Giggling as the man presented her with the key and left...she had the young boy who had sat on her bags to bring them in. He didn't look very happy.

"I didn't agree to this Miss." ::He snarled::

***Reaching into her pocket of her apron, she handed him a gold coin. Was what she expected to pay out for first and last months rent on any decent place. Smiling the lad, first bit into it, smiling...he then ran off before halfway down the lane he turned and hollered::

"Anything else I can help you with Miss?" ::smiling::

***Smiling she waved him off. "No....not a thing. And thank you again!" With that the boy was gone only the dust from him running down the well worn path remained. Well...getting settled would be her first move. Then cleaning up the place. It was furnished, that helped out immensely as well. And she like it. Truly...must have been a very comfortable loving home at one time. She had a sense for these such things...and this cottage was indeed filled with memories of love.

***Working for most of the evening just getting her things put away...she made a fire in the fire in the fireplace. Cleaning the kitchen, she found some bottles of wine unopened. Uncorking one....she poured herself a glass, bringing the bottle with her, flopping down on the couch. Lifting her hand, she made a toast...."Here's to health, wealth and love on my return to Rhydin. And for the coming New Year!" Sipping it, she knew she wouldn't be at any New Year Eve parties, being new to towne.

***Sitting back, watching the firesglow...she wore a contented smile. Sipping her wine...after another glass or maybe two, she fell off into a sweet dream filled slumber. "Aye...here's to a new start in Rhydin".***
