When the second model of Duci had been created and returned to Rhy'din, it was with the intention that she would fulfill the needs of the Cylon leaders that the prior model had not met. She was infected with a virus, if you will, that was programmed to trigger when Duci came across the governor. However, it was intended for a death encounter, where there were no witnesses, so they could send a Cylon model of Dris to continue in the real Dris place. It was there intention to take over the remainder of the government in the same process, so they could eventually take over Rhy'din.

However, Duci's second model failed to comply. She instead unknowingly stabbed Dris, but unfatally, while in a room full of witnesses.

The virus implanted in her system relayed the fiasco back to the mothership. Number One and Number Four both watched the playback on the main computer, their faces masks of anger. Their screams of rage may have been heard as echoes in the Rhy'din twilight. "Idiot!" One growled, livid by yet another failure from the same model. "We'll disconnect her," Four hissed, already moving to complete the task.

And thus the reincarnation of Duci would furthermore be no longer.
