The letter had been delivered by mail courier, emblazoned with the royal seal of Brodaer. Juliana sighed oppressively and reluctantly took it. She knew she should've been thankful they hadn't summoned her and at least pretended to make it look like she had an option. Shutting the door after the courier, she pressed her back against it and slowly slid down the surface until she was awkwardly seated. Nimble fingertips delicately openened the scroll, unwinding it to its relatively small length. Stormy seas traversed the parchment, lips pulling taut into a scowl that deepened by the seconds.

"The pig! How dare he!" she spat acidly, throwing the scroll across the room. "Using the royal seal to summon me!" The diminutive woman gnashed her teeth as her rage began to fester. How dare he summon her after years of being gone" What right had he other than a promise to marry, that should have been long ago destroyed"

The last thing she wished for was to return home, again. However, she knew if she didn't return of her own free will, she'd be forced. Groaning miserably she ran both hands over her face tiredly. She didn't want to admit it, but she was afraid to see him again. Afraid to relive the grip he held on her heart. Afraid to admit that after all these long, painful years of no word from him....she was still trully, madly, deeply in love with a ghost.

With her face buried in her palms, she let out a heartwrenching sob.
