Theodore

Theodore sighed softly as he pushed his way into the office. He smiled for Juliana, who greeted him with her usual niceties, and he instantly decided he'd miss her almost as much as the perky Duci, who walked in right behind him, squealing about something or another and offering him a bear of a hug.

"Woah, there, missy," he teased, squeezing her back lightly. After giving her a kiss to the forehead, she beamed up at him then skipped off for Alper's desk.

Theodore shook his head, moving for his office, and unfolding the box from beneath his arm. He set in on a spared chair, waiting to be filled throughout the day. For the most part, he spent the day finishing projects he had been working or once he couldn't see finished to the end, passing them onto the senior project managers. Perhaps Bashir would end up taking them, who knew.

Dusk began closing in by the time he returned to his desk, the box full of what little he saw fit to keep. Tucking it beneath the crook of his arm, he exited the office, looking back once, briefly, to ascertain this was the right thing. He continued down the hallway, no looking back. He was resolute with his decision.

For a moment he stood in Alper's doorway, watching the weary man. "You haven't even gone home since your flight came in, have you?" Theodore mused.

When Alper shook his head, leaning back in his chair, Theodore shifted the box to his other arm uncomfortably. "Alright, Alper, I'm sorry but...I need change. I can't...I can't stay here..." It was left unsaid, his true intentions. The real reason.

Theodore looked away from Alper almost guiltily, like he felt he was abandoning his best friend.

A Falconne

Alper's fingertips bridged together beneath his chin, tapping together idly as he studied Theodore. He sighed heavily, offering his friend a half-smile. "It's alright, I understand. I knew it'd happen eventually."

Rising from his chair, Alper rounded the desk. "Come here, man." He opened his arms up to embrace Theodore in a hug.

"I'll miss you. Go home, give Ariahn some attention. She misses you I'm sure." Half-hearted smile creased along his weary features.
