.: May 4th :.
Unexpected how things came to pass. Really she wasn't quite sure how to wrap her mind around how things even started. Maybe it was that moment her world shattered..
It started with a long thought on how things were for her. She had felt empty and cold when she and Toby talked. As if the very thing that gave her life was being threaded from the shell that was her body. No matter how much he said she needed to go back to how she was before. He really had no clue what he was asking and really she didn't want to. The thought alone of losing him more then she already had was a terrible, terrible concept. But it wouldn't be only him she would lose. She'd lose Mayu, too. Everything would become nothing to her. She would return to that state of nothing more then a puppet with no emotion or true thought.
She didn't want that.
She liked feeling. Happiness, sadness, even anger...It made her feel...alive. She liked feeling alive and not just some doll waiting for orders.
And what if there was an off chance Toby needed her" She had always told him she would be there for him. And he seemed very sure she always would. She was his best friend after all. That would never change.
And what if Mayu needed her" How was she going to be a good big sister if she couldn't be there when Mayu needed her? Really she wouldn't be able to forgive herself..
She had reasons not to fall into emptiness. She wanted to be there for those she cared for and that was far greater then any want to simply let go. Even if doing so meant she had to deal with the unimaginable pain that tore away in her chest every waking moment. She could hide it away along with her truest of feelings. She could feel and be happy.
Pieces picked up became a touch more easier then she had expected when the most unlikely of things happened.
In a single word...
Duci.
The blond whirlwind of a woman all but turned Katt's world upside down in a single night. Never had she imagined that Duci's introducing her around the inn as she had would mean more people in her life. Now there were many names and faces for her to remember. Heck even a few new friends which she was still finding surprising in itself. They didn't seem put off at all by her eyes or how unnatural she seemed. Or how sociably backward she was at times.
Duci didn't stop there. Upon hearing no place to lay her head, Duci insisted that Katt stay with her. Of course she wasn't sure how to respond to the offer at first. Duci was a very nice person but she really didn't want to impose on the blond bombshell. It didn't take much to coax Katt into the idea though. Course that could of been the lack of sleep. The idea of a warm, fluffy bed was alluring in her fuzzy mind.
Going to the condo was a bit of a foggy thing. She barely remembered leaving the inn let alone the directions to the place. Duci gave her a grand tour which was mostly left upon a consciousness that was waning.
The moment Duci stepped out and that door closed, Katt's face met the pillow. Dressed in dirty clothes and shoes, rucksack still upon that shoulder.
She slept...hard.
