Delighted with the news, Liv and Johnny didn't bother with a long missive of congratulations - just a huge bundle of presents!

Vanessa had quietly sent over a little gift package for the proud parents. The Onesies were a gag for the new parents. The music box played the "Teddy Bear's Picnic." Accompanying the gifts was a basket filled with breakfast items.

The timing of Shy's visit to the Red Dragon Inn turned out to be perfect. Not only did she collect the birth announcement from her mailbox, she also saw the darling twins in person! And since the opportunity presented itself she inquired what the new parents needed, if anything. Rhiannon's and Eregor's reply pleased her greatly, for it was unique.

Satisfied with her choice of pear trees, they are sent by special delivery to the happy family. Accompanying the gift are pictures of the pears each tree produces, and a bit of pertinent information.

Bartlett Pear Tree: A large, heavy-bearing variety with excellent quality. Long considered one of the choicest canning varieties. A favorite for all uses. Bartlett is a partially self-fruitful variety and therefore it does not have to be planted with another variety to produce fruit. However, it will produce more if pollinated by another variety.

Maturity Date: August 20

Sunrise Pear Tree (cross-pollinator): A new disease resistant pear, Sunrise has shown impressive resistance to fire blight. The fruit color is yellow, often finishing with a slight blush and very little russet. Flavor is very pleasant and sweet for this early season selection, which harvests two weeks before Bartlett. Sunrise will store for up to 2-3 months.

Maturity Date: August 10

The following was sent a few days late to the home of Rhiannon and Eregor, along with a card that read:

Congratulations on the new arrivals. I'm sorry this is late, but I've only just arrived back in Rhydin. Hoping to visit with you both soon and meet the wee ones for myself. Love to you all. ~Marissa
