Never had been Teleperien been so happy. After the horrible accident where her beloved husband risked his own life to saved Erwyn from drowning, a renewed affection and devotion blossomed between Philippe and Tele. The two were like new lovers trying to discover each other. They were spied exchanging passionate kisses behind columns and tapestries. In private, they were drawn into passionate lovemaking where each was left sated. The household was so pleased to see this. The return of Philippe had been less than peaceful and they could see the strain between the queen and the pirate. To witness their love gave relief to all.

Each night before Erwyn went to bed, the three spent time alone. They read or played games and when Tele was teaching Erwyn to play the harp Philippe poured over maps and charts with compass and ruler with a grim and brooding face. Erwyn noticed this. One evening as Tele tucked her daughter bed, Erwyn asked;

"Why does Philippe look angry as he reads his maps?"

For a moment Tele paused. She finished tucking the blankets around Erwyn before she answered. How does one say he's traveling to exact revenge for the deaths of his crew and take back his ship The Lady Venture" Best not to say anything. "He has a task he must see to that is not pleasant. I cannot tell you why.."

"Why not?" Erwyn interrupted.

"Because Philippe would not wish you to know. If you wish, you may ask him yourself, but I doubt he'll be explicit."

The answer obviously didn't satisfy her daughter so Tele continued. "When the task is finished, you will be told. However, how would you like to stay with Amanda and Mystic and their father for a few weeks?"

"Are you going with Philippe?"

"Yes. I am to help him." Tele then kissed Erwyn's forehead. "Now, no more questions."

"But".!"

"No more." Tele said firmly. Erwyn huffed with frustration. "Good night."

Tele blew out the candles and left the room.

The ball and feast went as good as could be. Actually, it was really a daylong celebration and thanks to Elbereth for the blessings upon Eldicor. Before the ball, a fair was held in the village of Sawrey . Tents, booths, pavilions filled the square. Among the brightly colored banners, one could see the banner of Eldicor, white field with a golden tree with a single star atop the tree. All the races of the small realm mingled cheerfully as they passed through the many wares offered by the vendors. The only unhappy sound were small children crying when their ice fell to the ground.

There was plenty of food, games, a jousting match as well as several jugglers and puppet shows preformed for the children among other diversions.

Teleperien, Philippe and Erwyn took time to attend the fair before the ball. It caused a great deal of excitement and delight to the attendees of the fair. Flowers were pressed on Erwyn and Teleperien as they greeted as many as they could.

Philippe was admired by most of the young (as well as older) ladies as he strode aside the queen. Philippe was dressed handsomely in a blue coat with gold buttons, a fine white shirt, black breeches as well as his customary thigh high boots. On his head he wore his plumbed captain's hat. He openly flirted by winking, bowing to an exceptionally pretty lass with hand on breast as well as kissing hands now and then. Tele basically ignored this knowing her husband was the handsomest man in the realm and he was totally devoted to her.

Tele was dressed in her usual white though a finer cut that flowed over her frame like water that trickles down the side of a hill. A silver belt wrought with the likeness of the small flower elenor lay about her slender waist. Unlike other occasions, Tele wore her crown. A simple mithril creation with three gems that represented the three rings of power worn in the distant past of Middle Earth. A diamond in the center flanked by a gem of deep red the other side brilliant blue. Erwyn donned a white gown as well with a similar silver belt her mother wore. Upon her brow she wore a simple mithril circlet.

Erwyn was lively and waved with genuine excitement and thought it was a great deal of fun. It was then she spotted Osgood, the stable boy in the queen's service. He had squeezed through the crowd as the queen approached. His face flushed to the roots of his curly dark hair as he bowed to Erwyn and presented her a bouquet of wild flowers.

"Your Highness." He stammered then looked up shyly.

"Thank you." Erwyn said just as shyly as she took the flowers. A gentle nudge from Tele, urged Erwyn to continue with the visit to the village. Another happy smile to Osgood as she was swept off.

"Who was that Erwyn?" Tele asked quietly.

"His name is Osgood, he works in the stables. He lets Amanda, Mystic and me to stroke the horses. Once he showed us kittens!"

Tele and Philippe exchanged amused smiles; Osgood was left behind as they moved on. When they were finished, they returned to the carriage and left for the castle.
