Erwyn

"Where is mother?"

Erwyn had set out in search of her mother that morning. It was pretty as always, the sun's rays pierced the forest canopy here and there with stabs of gold sparkles while the leaves rustled as a breeze pushed its way through the branches. Teleperien, Erwyn's mother, usually joined Erwyn at breakfast or the midmorning cup of tea. She hadn't shown up at either. In fact, the Blessed Realm was more quiet than usual. The cavalcade of elves didn't make much noise as it was and now it seemed almost deafeningly quiet.

She spotted two elves as they seemed to almost rush toward the center of the realm where all the higher-ranked members of Valinor dwelled. Erwyn quickly caught up and began following them.

Elves surrounded the dwelling place in silence, intent on hearing all that was said. Erwyn peered past the crowd to see her mother, Alatar, Gandalf, Eonwe, Galaderial and anyone who held any rank had gathered, speaking in lowered urgent voices. Tele must have felt Erwyn's presence for she turned and looked right at the young elf.

"Erwyn, please join us." Tele's voice was a little strained but laced with excitement. The elves turned to look as Erwyn shouldered her way through the crowd and cross to her mother.

"Yes" What has happened?" Erwyn asked, her curiosity now stoked. Tele beamed and said to her;

"We're going home.?

Alatar

Alatar easily slipped into the astral stream that lead to the corridor of time. Nomrah had taught him how to do this while he lived with Teleperien in Eldicor. Alatar was entirely grateful for the talent, for he used this when things were quiet in the small realm. He decided to visit while Tele and Erwyn were busy with other things.

The floor was clear, as if he walked on air. Around him the walls swirled in vivid colors against black. Arches lined the corridor where different worlds in different times showed through the openings. Alatar had chosen a time on earth during the Victorian Era in England. He would be transformed into a elderly and bearded gentleman. Just before he went through the arch, a voice sounded behind him.

"Alatar."

Surprised, the wizard turned around to see two figures outlined in an archway. At first they were black against the bright light but when they stepped through Alatar saw it was Nomrah and a younger looking elf. "Nomrah, this is a welcome surprise." Alatar smiled and extended a hand. They grasped wrists as they pounded each other's backs in a masculine hug. Nomrah had not changed in apperance at all. Alatar could see how Erwyn resembled him. Bright blue eyes, yellow blonde hair and a face that held a bright smile. Nomrah gestured toward the younger elf.

"This is Elladan. My son."

"Ah yes! I remember you." Alatar responded with a nod. In contract to Erwyn, Elladan closely resembled Teleperien. "Alatar." Elladan said. His voice was musical as his mother's. "I am pleased to know you protect my mother."

Alatar chuckled. "There are times my task is quite trying."

"I am sure of it." Nomrah answered with a smile. He went serious. "Alatar, Elladan and I have joined with the Circle again."

"Indeed!" Alatar exclaimed with surprise. He looked back and forth between Nomrah and Elladan. "Yes. When I learned that the Circle was searching for Erwyn, we returned on the condition they leave Erwyn be."

For a moment Alatar was silent digesting this bit of information. "They will not take her?"

"Aye. It was my power they want. Elladan insisted he join me so they would be content. Erwyn is safe."

Alatar remained silent then he smiled. "They can return to Eldicor?"

"Yes."

"That is good news indeed. Erwyn does not enjoy life in the Blessed Realm. It is too quiet for her."

"I have watched both her and Teleperien. They are not ready for the placid life of Valinor. Eldicor still needs her." Nomrah replied.

"That is truth."

Nomrah nodded. "I must return. Rest in knowing Erwyn is safe. She will be protected."

Just as suddenly as they appeared, Elladan and Nomrah disappered. With a light heart Alatar hurried back to Valinor.
