Okay...simply for my own amusement (and the amusement of others as well), I'm creating a thread for the funny sh*t I see on a daily basis. Whether its just something funny from the Live RP Lobby, something I read in a post, or what I like to call the 'No-Sh*t Headlines,' feel free to stick it here.
Or you can just stick it. Whatever.
So I'm re-dedicating this thread to both my Quotables and OOC Commentary/Guestbook thread.
And, of course, re-posting everything from the Quotables thread to this one, because for some reason there's no way to merge posts.
All in this one post.
And now, for the first funny thing to go in this post:
The Alpha Cologne Radio Spot
In particular, this part:
Alpha, the new cologne by Harris, is chock full of so much manly goodness you'll be shaving each morning with shuriken grenades! Comprised of lumberjack tears, whiskey, unicorn sweat, and gunpowder, this cologne will officially make you a man! And if you're already one then it'll make you two!
Seriously, if you're not laughing at this, go and shoot yourself, because there is no humor in your life.
Kudos to Harris for his sheer comedic genius. Ed's going to have to buy some just because that commercial rocked.
First and foremost I wish to extend to all those that participated in last night's 2011 RhyDin Gubernatorial Debate my compliments on one of the best nights of live RP I've had since I started playing back when the Internet was still a relatively new thing (before AOL sunk their claws into it). I have to admit I was impressed with each and every one of the candidates (even the ones that conflicted with Ed's interests) for their answers and their interaction with each other and the audience. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed playing this much.
To the participating audience as well, of whom there are too many to mention, for the first point of there being no bullsh*t drama brought into the mix, some jerk supervillain crashing through the roof and killing someone (as I've read about happening elsewhere), or bomb threats. (The latter might have been fun as a storyline thing, if it were something thought out beforehand...but I digress.) Everyone, from Harris and Clover (and the candidates, and random people throughout the room) plugging Alpha cologne from the booth set up at the back, to Alain DeMuer (whose question set off probably the best and most interesting part of the debate), to Morana and her hosting/refereeing/question posing that kept everything in an understandable order, to Mr. Howe and his dropping in at the end to stir things up, and all you others I didn't mention, you all rocked!
And now - last, but certainly not least - I wanted to mention this post.
there's too much there for me to quote, though I will put in the portion that concerns me (vanity is such a great motivator!):
Edward Batten " You got some character there! Witty, quick and is that a Cajun accent' It sure does sound like it! Looking forward to playing more with you! Edward already has all the earmarks of being one of the powerful movers and shakers!
As a matter of fact that is a Cajun accent, and thank you for noticing! And for your compliments as well. I wanted to say in return that it's nice to see a villain for a change that can come into Live RP and not make a total mess of things for everyone else, and also it's awesome that you don't mind someone heckling your character without getting offended. I won't count the number of times I've played a character that's an a$$hole by their nature and have been told that (by association) I must be as bad as they are. (The fact that it may be true is beside the point.)
Anyway, going back to the post as a whole, it's not often (if ever) that I've seen someone taking the time to type out a compliment to so many others, and having been so inspired I encourage everyone to take a look at the post by clicking here.
So I'm looking in the Rhy'din Post folder to see what goes on in the news today, and I see this article.
I love satire, especially well-written satire,
On a related note, this article is pretty funny too.
And there you have it.
On another, more humorous note, check this out.
