Correy sat at the library table, textbooks and manuals opened up in a splay around him. A pen in hand, his head held up by the hand that wasn't busy writing. And when he wasn't writing, he had the end of the pen at his lips, tap tap tapping. "Hmmm..." and with an expression that said he had a light bulb over his head, he began to write once again.
Jon had asked around and been told where Correy could be found. It brought a heartfelt smile to his face to know Correy was working things out and making a life for himself. Even though they were no longer lovers, there was a special place in Jon's heart for Correy and there always would be, perhaps more than for any other of his cousins. He entered the library quietly, spying his young cousin there at the table, watching him quietly a moment with a warm, affectionate smile on his face.
The school's library wasn't that big, so when the door opened and a cool breeze blew in with the scent of Jon's cologne was on it, Correy looked up and smiled widely. "Well, well," he chuckled, rising from his chair. "If it isn't the monkey's uncle," Pushing his chair in, he walked towards Jon, with every intention of hugging his cousin. The bond and love they shared for each other shone in bright blue eyes. "I hear congratulations are in order," murmured as he enveloped Jon into a Correy special bear hug.
Jon laughed. "I might be an uncle, but not to a monkey." Jon welcomed and returned the hug, not worrying about whether it was a manly thing to do or not. Correy knew him better than most anyone, other than Vicki, and he didn't have to worry about keeping up appearances with him. He could just be himself. "Yeah, not jealous are you?"
"Of course I am," he quipped and stepped out of the hug. "And incredibly angry with you," His expression belied his statements, as well as the grin in his voice. "How dare you not tell me first?" His brows rose as he teased his best friend. "So when do I suit up with the tux and tails" Better yet, when do I get to plan the bachelor party of all bachelor parties" It's going to be epic!"
Jon chuckled as Correy dove right into the role of groomsmen even before he had a chance to ask. "How do you know I'm going to ask you?" he teased, blue eyes dancing with amusement, a good-natured smirk on his face. He looked and for the record, felt happier than he could ever remember.
"Because I am a lot more fun than our other cousins and you don't have very many guy friends." Correy answered confidently. He stepped back, and led the way back to the table with his books. "And I've got the connections to give you the very best party. So I'm a natural choice!"
Jon's smile faded momentarily when Correy reminded him how few friends he had - at least, those of the male persuasion. Straight ones, anyway. "Just don't get me in any trouble with the bride!" he warned as he followed Correy to a table.
"Hey, I'm going to provide the temptation. It's on you whether you get yourself in trouble." Correy laughed and plopped back down into his seat. "So..." he cleared a book or two out of the way and leaned back. "Tell me about it. How'd you ask and stuff?"
He took a seat across from Correy, the smile spreading across his face again at the memory of his proposal. "I took her to Venice. I wasn't gonna pop the question there, but it just happened. Then when we got back, I did it again at the theater, Shakespeare style."
