Kristoph took a long, deep breath, listening gratefully to the sound of silence, eyes closed in quiet contemplation. The silence was blessed, considering how loud and crowded it had gotten there. Nikia's bare feet to pad slowly over the ground, and would continue to do so until someone motioned for her to stop. Evergreens would flicker open, head tilting to notice the company. "Forgive my hasty departure; I was beginning to feel somewhat claustrophobic." His smile was somewhat lame, but apologetic as his words, which were not entirely truthful perhaps - or truthful, but with omissions.
"It's alright. There were too many people in there. And everything was too loud." she mumbled, before she rubbed at the side of her head.
Fiona's eyes shone with affection for the both of them as she joined them, having traveled through her mist ? the Nightlands - she would rather be here with them, and she smiled at both of them. A weary, but very loving smile was returned from Kristoph to Fiona, "I thought perhaps you became lost in the mist trying to find me..." and perhaps the smile was a little teasing as well. His mask was now off 'strangely feeling release at the anonymity of the masquerade ball- and he was blushing quite furiously, ashamed. "Truly, I would have loved to dance with both of you."
As an after thought, he somewhat self consciously adjusted the draw on his tunic, lacing it a bit tighter and more completely hiding the adornment on the end of the chain which clung to his neck - something he was nervous Nikia might have seen when he had asked her to dance earlier. Fiona had removed her mask, showing him her loving smile. He didn't need to prove his love to her by dancing with them at the ball. She knew how much he cared for her and her daughter. Nikia, however, responded with guileless honesty, "You could still dance with us, and mom can sing. Her voice is beautiful." she nodded multiple times, before she grinned. She wanted to dance - and she wanted to hear her mom sing; as for the trinket, if she noticed it....she didn't mention it. Yet.
