The Marketplace was the normality of business that early morning, where the sun was unusual high, and the temperatures became fairly hot. It was the type of day like any other where the sky was clear of clouds; save for the few wisps of misted white, barely seen hanging amongst the brilliantly bright cyan heavens. The Rhy'Dinians wore the appropriate attire for such a warm morning, basking in the glory of fine weather conditions, children played at the fountain " and some times in, splashing about, having their merry way with their innocent lives while proud parents looked on from nearby stalls.
Amongst the rabble, many would not notice the blonde haired deliverer of flowers, as she stepped out of a block of small flats just off the square, smiling and conversing with a little old lady, mostly over trivial matters including the weather and other day to day questions. She held a large wicker basket hooked within the crook of her arm, filled with beautifully well-tended to Rosa Giganteas.
But not everything was as it seems. Not everyone, was enjoying such a beautifully peaceful day in paradise. From between the crowds of shifting bodies, two young school uniformed dressed students stood holding hands rather awkwardly amongst it all, gazing intently with blood red eyes through the cracks, their gaze locked onto a particular individual, and nothing more.
Their faces resembled the eachothers " and with their blood coloured eyes, raven black waist length hair, one could had mistaken them for twins. But they were not. They were not related.
They watched the blonde delivery girl smile and wave to the old woman, and turned to walk into the crowd, probably heading off to her next delivery, and as she moved, so did the statuesque heads of the two young girls, following the woman in the yellow sun dress with rust coloured eyes. Their gazes were so intense and serious they barely even blinked at all, even then as their target made her way to a sweet shop stall on the other side of the square.
Finally, one of them spoke " her voice dead and distant, almost lost in a dream of unending bleakness.
"Target sighted. Subject: Renna Egorwrath Bloodstone. The Betrayer. Mother....Status: Unknown. Soul Signature: incompatible with current records..." As the words left the innocent lips of the girl on the right, she turned her attention to her companion, rather confused at what she was sensing. "Sister Wednesday?"
The other girl " Wednesday, returned the look. Both of their faces expressed a mixture of confusion, and disgust. Even Wednesday's voice resembled the others in tone and accent. "Confirmed, Sister Sunday. Error: Soul Signature non-existent. Unable to detect the target through almost any sensory method, other than sight....The rumour is true....She lives. Commander Vindicator was correct to investigate the rumours."
"How?" Questioned Sunday, "The Death Blight Virus was meant to cease all her functions. Vindicator will not be pleased. Have you reported it?"
Wednesday had closed her eyes during their conversation, utilizing the vastly complicated shared psychic network of the Sisters of the Black Flame, known as the Sister Network, to relay the same information to all of the Black Flame members, within that instant. After a few seconds of silence, Wednesday opened her eyes, "The Master Server, Sister May, has ordered us to continue observation....And..." The young girl's lips curled into an evil, twisted little grin, " if the opportunity presents itself, correct this grave error. Renna Egorwrath Bloodstone....Dearest Mommy, must be terminated."
Thursday nodded, then smiled. She turned her head to regard the blonde haired woman at the sweet stall. "....The mistake must be corrected." With that said, the two girls headed off through the crowd, disappearing amongst the masses...
Unaware of the vile intent, Renna paid the sweet stall vendor, she smiled politely at him as took the brown bag of sugar coated salty chocolate truffles from his possession. She exchanged her pleasantries, and set off to leave the square, heading towards the road that would take her to the Red Dragon Inn. She fancied something to dampen her lips ? maybe a good Bloodwine, or maybe a simple glass of Vodka with some cheap cola and a squeeze of lime...
Lost in her contemplation, as Renna followed the path out of the Marketplace, she barely noticed the presence of two small individuals following her trail, as she munched on the salty chocolate truffles.
