Merlin as he was now calling himself as he was no longer old, came to the RiverView Clinic. As promised he would be telling stories and giving shows of Magic to the sick Children here. Agreed upon and arranged with Dr. Maranya Valkonan as of last night. Merlin came to the Clinic one hour after the Morning Meal and arrived at the Receptionist's Desk. The Woman there asked Merlin his business in a kind, though professional manner.

"I am Merlin of Breton and I am here to give Magic Shows and tell Stories to the children under care here at the Clinic. I have arranged this with Doctor Marayna Valkonan and I am a good friend to Doctor Shariane Uth Davan. If you could please announce to Doctor Valkonan that I am here I would be most grateful."

The woman at the Reception Desk, smiled and nodded, then she called over the PA..

"Paging Doctor Valkonan, paging Doctor Valkonan, please come to the Reception Area. Thankyou."

The PA clicked off and the Receptionist told Merlin to wait, and so Merlin waiting in the Reception Area, reading a Magazine that was 6 months out of date, and about life on Alpha Centuri III.

Fresh from her rounds in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Chief of Staff at Riverview Clinic strode briskly toward the reception desk. Her knee length white labcoat flared like a cape behind her before she stopped there, and nodded her thanks to Phyllia.

"Good morning, Merlin. It is so good of you to come here to entertain the children. Beyond knows that both they and I appreciate that, very much." Her grateful smile reached her weary hazel eyes. "If you'll come with me, please, I can show you to your audience for the day. Unfortunately, I have other duties to take care of, so I won't be able to stay for your full performance. But, I will try to stop by to at least catch part of it."

He greeted Maranya with a smile and a firm handshake, dressed in a fine deep green robe, with silver thread leaf patterns. And a nicer fur/leather Jerkin over his robes. Staff in his other hand..

"It is a honor to bring tales and magic that will brighten their day and leave a twinkle of happiness in their eyes. And I understand Maranya, if you cant make the show, there will be others, once a week as promised. I shall have this showing well have some Illusions and a short story today. An hour or so, until they are used to me, don't wish to overwhelm then and all that.

So please good Ma'am, lead on and I shall follow."

He smiled and gave a slight bow and awaited her lead to the Children to give them a Magical show and tale told.

Shariane

The aforementioned Shariane was in the process of bringing the children to the courtyard that she had crafted. She was chatting animatedly with one of the young boys in the unit. This performance had been discussed previously, and she had been the one to suggest this audience to Merlin. She knew several of the kids had been down about being in the hospital.

A few of them she had been working on drawing them out of their shell. IT was a difficult process and she had been doing little things. A small illusion here, a special blanket there....A gentle shoulder to lean on when the tears came and mommy or daddy couldn't be there.

She couldn't help them as much as wished she could, but she could help ease the shadows in their eyes.

Normally, performances by guests to the Clinic for the children were held in the Recovery Ward. However, with some of those ill children in need of entertainment having been in the number that were rescued from the slave mines, that day's show would be held in the courtyard specifically designed to bring peace to those who remained within its structure.

Maranya guided Merlin to the place where her young patients awaited the special show. She nodded to Shariane, and stood off to the side to watch with hazel eyes that glowed a soft leaf green.
