Aja sat aboard the Breeze watching the sun come up. It's not as if her presence aboard the ship was all that unusual. She often spent time of the Breeze when she needed to think or wanted to work undisturbed. Her reason for being there now was the former...She needed to think. Aja looked around the Breeze with a soft smile, many times, the Breeze and its crew intervened on the behalf of innocent travelers. Many times, the rescued expressed their gratitude and went along their way. But this time, the intervention was for family, and there was no chance of the good deed fading off into memory for her. It was too close, too real and far too important.

Aja had a booted foot up on the railing, her forearms supporting her weight as she stared off at the horizon thinking over the last couple days. The why and wherefores not adding up to anything that made sense. Things that ticked away in her head led her to see out a man of great power. The Don, as she referred to him in her head. To her surprise, he graciously listened to her dilemma, and with the promise of a future favor, even helped. That was one part of the whole deal she would keep to herself, no sense in worrying the family. They had enough drama in the last few days, she wanted to spare them anymore worry. They needed peace from the last few days, she wanted them to have blissful moments free of strife, their laughter was the most precious form of treasure.

True to the Don's word, she received a letter saying that there would be no further aggression towards her family from the Mysterious Mr. E. It did little to calm her sense that something was definitely rotten in the state of Denmark. She had been working over the problem with Rico, and an ambitious crew member took it upon himself to perform some covert actions for his boss. He came back that morning to reveal that something was indeed up and that the danger to her family was not over.

That led her to seek refuge on the Breeze. A place that always seemed to soothe her, but as the sun rose over the horizon, Aja found no sense of calm, just the feeling that a storm was coming. One that had no rhyme or reason. One that was looking to take a member of her family from her. Whatever it took. A motto her crew lived by when carrying out whatever mission they were on, words that resounded in her head now. Whatever it took. She would protect her family. The odd assortment of people that had big hearts and varying talents. She had to.
