Thursday around lunchtime, a mail courier dropped off the following letter on Sivanna's desk, labeled: For Sivanna.

Sivanna,

Hey pretty lady, I have a question for you.

I met with Fionna recently concerning her artwork, and as she was showing me her collection, she came up with a fascinating idea of holding an open house at Luks Condos to feature all of her artwork I purchased and have in the rooms and hallways. It would also serve the purpose of jumpstarting her work-in-progress project. We discussed her building a fountain in the courtyard, and situating it so people can watch her begin and finish the project over the course of time.

I know you usually help with organization and publicity of projects, so I was wondering if I could enlist your help? Let me know what you think and any ideas you may have.

Talk to you soon!

"Are you all right, Sivanna" You're looking a little pale."

The older nurse's grassy voice became a jarring reminder that the cleric still lingered in the workplace. It had been a long week, and that Sunday morning Sivanna had only returned to the clinic to close out a tentative contract agreement between Riverview and Skyware Healthcare Systems Incorporated. The contract itself would mean not only the extension of private funding by a whopping six percent, but also include the leasing of a brilliant new piece of non-invasive diagnosing technology that the company had banally titled a Non-Invasive Cardiac Catheterization Apparatus. While heart catheterization wasn't terribly invasive to begin with— only relied upon the threading of a plastic tube or electrode through a blood vessel in the leg or arm that led into the heart— this method utilized a localized system of gravitational displacement, capable of steering injected dye through the body and into the heart with a only a joystick and a mapping screen. The things technology could do when infused with magicks truly staggered Sivanna at times. But then again, so did the wave of faintness that decided to rear its ugly head as she fumbled with her keys outside her office that morning. Bearing a kind smile, she canted her head in the nurse's direction.

"I always look pale," she teased as her gloved fingers finally managed to encourage her office key into the lock in the door. "But I'm fine. Thank you, Georgia." Swinging the entry open, the cleric took a step inside, only to be faced with the new task of removing the key from the lock. For the briefest instant, Sivanna regretted picking satin in terms of gloves. Certainly the fabric was stylish, but it was hardly practical, especially when she couldn't even secure a tight grip on such a tiny brass instrument.

"Do you need help?"" the nurse pressed, taking a tentative step forward. Sivanna could hear the concern in that grassy voice of hers. There was really no other way to describe it, she found. Georgia had an earthy quality about her, but at the same time she was about as metropolitan and predictable as the rest of the nursing staff. More importantly, however, Georgia could be profound and grandiose if she felt like it— one of her better, but at times more irritating qualities" especially since Sivanna wasn't the type who liked having questions asked of her.

Taking a deep breath and steeling her resolve, the elfess finally gave a brutal yank to the set of keys, freeing them from their puzzle prison. Subtly jingling the set in subdued triumph, Sivanna imparted a victorious smile toward the nurse. She turned her back to her, taking careful steps toward a cluttered, mahogany desk.

"Well, I'll be in the children's wing all day if you need me," Georgia offered, and the elfess could hear only a few steps taken away from the door before they stopped and got closer again. If Georgia was going to ask about her one more time"

"I almost forgot. You know you've had a letter sitting on your desk since Thursday," the nurse mentioned, drumming crimson nails on the doorframe as she lingered outside Sivanna's office. The elfess blinked a moment, surveying the few stacks of opened and unopened letters that she had to sift through. So much for a short day. It would take at least until ten that evening to reach the level of organization Sivanna needed to function properly. Satin fingers pushed through a few documents lazily atop that mahogany plateau before finding purchase on a pristine envelope labeled For Sivanna. Arching a golden brow, a steady process of fishing for a letter opener was begun.

Before Sivanna reached halfway across the desk, Georgia was beside her, snatching the envelope out of her hands. Sharp, crimson nails dragged through the letter's seams with all the precision of a scalpel before they meticulously withdrew the paper within. Without looking at the letter itself, Georgia placed it on Sivanna's desk, then spared an amused smile at the cleric's expense.

"You really need an assistant," she mused earthily.

Sivanna had heard that same utterance from her husband more than once. Chuckling musically to herself as she plucked up the letter, the elfess directed a comment to the nurse's retreating form.

"Why get an assistant when I have you?"

A rustic laugh bubbled outside the cleric's office before the door was closed, leaving Sivanna alone with her letter and her thoughts. After a brief pause of staring into oblivion, the cleric turned her quicksilver eyes onto beautifully scripted handwriting and read.

For a moment, Sivanna turned that name over and over in her head. Fionna" Why, for the life of her, could she not remember a Fionna" Perhaps her head was merely full of air that evening. It wouldn't have been the first time— and that thought was punctuated with a rueful look at her disorderly desk. Unable to help herself, the elfess laughed. She refolded the letter most carefully before circling toward her chair and retrieving a parchment and fountain pen of her own.

Instead of writing, her eyes lingered on her hands. An amused, Cupid's bow curve of a smile drooped downward into a slight frown, but before Sivanna could think any more on it, the pen flew across the page effortlessly. Not half the message was finished before she felt infinitely better.

Alper,

How wonderful to hear from you. I would be delighted to do what I can to help you and Miss Fionna. Please give me a call or write so that we can brainstorm a little. I'd like to hear more about this artist before I come up with any concrete ideas.

Tenna" ento lye omenta, Sivanna

Satisfied, the cleric folded up the missive and addressed it appropriately. Once all was said and done, however, there still remained the long walk to the mailroom. Checking the clock above her desk, Sivanna huffed and made her way out of her office to send the message out immediately.

"I should have gotten an assistant."

Another letter came for in the same fashion.

Sivanna,

Fionna paints and does a lot of found-pieces art. Like the mosaic mirrors we received from Fionna and Ali? I'm sure you've seen them before. I'll give you a call later so we can meet up to discuss a little more.
