Web of Power, Web of Light raise by magic's hand, From a node of ancient fire far beneath the land. Called by forces strong and sure to this final test. Joining Heralds North and South with those from east to west.

It was time, long past in her opinion. After recent incidents with magic and supernatural attacks, it only felt appropriate to give the clinic another line of defense. She had spent many hours cultivating the flora in the courtyard when not doing rounds. She felt that this was just as important to a patient's well being, a place of peace. So here she was, in essence, building a little haven for all to enjoy. Her son understood what she was working on and turned a hand where he could.

Challenge not this Web of Light, oh mage of dark designs.

A web would best describe what she was seeing as she worked. She stood before a stone pedestal with a large piece of crystal sitting on top. The crystal was flawless and sparkled like a rainbow when the sun shone upon it. This was the focal point of the garden and for the work she was about to do. Very few could realize the level of power she controlled and she did not demonstrate it lightly. After all, she was confident in her skills and power that she did not have to act the braggart.

Lay your stones before you, mages trained and skilled. They will form the pattern of the web of that we must build. This our parting gift to generations yet to be; A trap to warn of magic that no mortal eyes can see.

The pattern had been laid around the crystal. Different stones, all focused with elements in mind. For earth, a perfect diamond formed in from the coal found deep within the earth. For air, a blue topaz of such coloring it resembled the sky on a perfect day. For fire, a carnelian that seemed to glow with an inner fire. For water, an aquamarine so pure, it resembled the clearest of ocean waters. But for the heart and soul of this? Challenge not this Web of Light, oh mage of dark designs.

The Emerald that was favored by the woman that brought this whole place together.

You are we who felt the touch, of magic's guiding light. You were still in years ahead, are those prepared to fight. In our circle one last time we need to raise the par, That must endure when flesh is gone and light the darkest hour.

This would be a masterwork by any standard. The time and power invested in bring together the elements of power - to gently move in the ley lines to a meeting point. To cleanse the power moving through those lines until it would be safe for the innocent to be near. She was in her element as a Healing Adept. It had been so long since the last time she was able to exercise her full abilities as they were meant to be used. To created a place of safety that would endure even when she was gone. This was her true purpose in this lifetime. Challenge not this Web of Light, oh mage of dark designs.

The lines were gently coaxed into the crystal, creating the node that would fuel this masterwork. The Crystal would shine even when it was dark or dreary to give those within hope. It would be a beacon to those that need reassurance that they were indeed doing the right thing. It would be a comfort to those in need. And it would be the keystone to the web.

The shields would protect those within from fell magics that would threaten this place. It would become a haven for those in needs and shelter when the forces of nature would vent their fury. It would not stop nature from taking it's course, but it would gentle the fury.

Everything within balance.

In our circle one last time we need to raise the par, That must endure when flesh is gone and light the darkest hour.

With her son on hand, she called upon the final spells to set her work into place. The final spells would require her personal energy to set into place. It would be felt by anyone that is sensitive but they would know the true intention. They would know that this place was protected by beings with power.

Challenge not this Web of Light, oh mage of dark designs.

With the final setting of the spells, the Heartstone was in place and the shielding for the Clinic completed. With a peaceful, smile on her lips, she faded into unconsciousness only to be caught by her son as she collapsed. (Lyrics by Mercedes Lackey.
