Harper Lacey

Riverview Clinic wasn't hard to find, going by the map in her hand and the directions she'd received from a couple of helpful passers by. Harper paused in front of the handsome building, smiling to see the murals painted on the walls, and the carefully cultivated garden. So different from the bland, uninviting places at which she had trained and worked before. It was encouraging, even if all she got out of this flying visit was a gentle 'no, thank you'. She could get a job serving a bar, or waiting tables, until an opening in her professional field came up, she was certain. But it would be preferable to be working at a hospital.

Adjusting the hang of her one tailored trouser suit, she drew in a deep breath and walked in through the doors. The receptionist would be greeted by the sight of a confident young woman in her late twenties, dressed in a business-like charcoal grey suit and pale pink shirt, with brown hair caught back from her face and a ready smile. First impressions count for a lot, after all.

She laid on hand on the desk, waiting patiently for the woman sitting there to finish with her more pressing work and acknowledge her.

"Good morning," she greeted her with a smile, the rounded tones of her London accent clipped in what she jokingly called her 'I'm posh, honest' voice. "My name is Harper Lacey, I don't have an appointment. I realise this is completely unexpected, but I was wondering if there were any openings here for a trauma surgeon?"

She reached into her bag, pulling out her resum", and handed it over the desk to the woman there. It detailed her training at the University of London, as well as the qualifications she had received there - Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery - and the two hospital placements where she had worked since, both paediatric and general adult. They were all Earth cities, but with any luck, her work and references would speak for themselves.

"These are my qualifications," she said quietly, her expression more hopeful than anything. "I've just moved to RhyDin ....the address for the Inn where I'm staying is on there, too. If there's any chance of a placement here, I would be ecstatic for a chance at earning it. Do you know whom I should talk to?"
