Peanut jumped from his perch on the tree outside down to Aja's shoulder as soon as she walked by making her jump. "Peanut...yer are gonna give me a heart attack." my human pet said.

'Not my fault you are high strung.' I turned around on her shoulder. 'Maybe if you laid off the pixie sticks." "I can't tell if you're telling me off or agreeing with me." My pet said with a laugh as she went upstairs to her new office. 'It doesn't matter. You feed me.' I told her as I jumped off her shoulder and down to her desk getting some grapes from the fruit basket on her desk.

"If you spit seeds at me, Peanut, I'll skin you." my pet said with a smile. In response, I threw a grape at her. "Well, that's better than spitting." she said and picked up the grape and ate it. I liked my human pet. She was funny and had lots of friends that she would take me to see. One of the human friends was Anya.

She hadn't taken me to see her except at the clinic. There was talk from my human friend about Ayden and Andrew who I didn't get to see yet. Something about them being too small to be able to meet me. I would've taken offense to that but she let me play with the other kids, so I would forgive her for not letting me play with these too small kids. I sat and watched my human pet for a while as she read the many papers on her desk. On occasion, she would make a noise and set that paper aside. I ate more grapes while she worked. Before long, I got bored, so I got down to go see my other human pets in the office.

Ajia's office was empty, which left me free to investigate the brightly colored sticks that she kept up on the tilted desk with the paper. The ones she wouldn't let me play with. I hopped up on the tilted desk and selected one of them and ran it across the paper. It was fun but I lost interest after a while and decided to go see what Rico was doing.

He was funny when he was in the office. He would "sneak" bits of banana to me when he worked. Today, he was in the office, going through papers, much like Aja was. He talked less to himself while he did it. That was less fun. I hopped up on his desk and sat watching him.

"Hey, Peanut." he said which made me feel special. I moved closer and patted his arm. In response to that, he reached into the drawer and took out a banana. He peeled it and broke off a good bit of it and handed it to me.

I ate quietly watching my human pet work for a while then took the rest of the snack he provided and went down the hall. The newest human pet, Tristan was in his office. I watched him from the hallway. I didn't know him as well as did the others. He became boring to watch quickly and I had finished my snack.

Going down the stairs to the main part of the office, I saw the new secretary arranging flowers. It looked to me like she needed help, so I hurried down and started to arrange the flowers on the side the secretary was not. She slowly spun the vase and I heard her sigh.

"I thought I had done this side. It looks like a deranged lunatic took up flowers." she said

"I am not a lunatic." I said to her. She looked around the flowers at me.

"Peanut! You little scamp!" she yelled at me. Which was unfair. I was only trying to help. About that time, my human pet came downstairs and chuckled.

"Come on, Peanut. Let's leave Linda to her flowers before you really end up pushing up daisies." Aja pattered her shoulder for me to perch on. I launched myself to her shoulder and hugged her head for the rescue.

"I love you." I told her and patted her head.

"Yeah, yeah, buddy. I love you too." she said as she headed out the door. "Let's go have lunch with Anya and Mami. You have to behave though. Or I'll put you on a leash."

"Sure. Be mean to me when I was just trying to help." I pouted and hunched down on her shoulder, curling my tail around her neck as she got into the truck to go to town. I took my usual spot on the back of the seat and looked around the truck cab.

Aja spent a lot of time in the truck lately. She would run errands and go check up on various things that she had set in motion. I went with her one day on these errands, she spoke to a lot of people in a lot of different places. People that she didn't always introduce me to. One guy she even punched when he pulled at my tail when we went through the marketplace to the stores. If she hadn't, I was going to scratch his eyes out. That hurt! You don't go grabbing a monkey's tail. Heathens.

Today, she played the radio in the truck. I had long given up my search for the tiny people that made the noise that came out of the speakers. They hid too well but I suspected they were still somewhere in the engine compartment. Not that I had a chance to look yet.

When she parked the truck, she got out and I hopped up on her shoulder.

"We're going to see the kids!" I got excited and jumped to her other shoulder.

"If yer gonna act like a little crack monkey, Peanut, I'm gonna put you in the tool box." my human pet warned making me sigh.

"Fine." I pouted as she turned the opposite way from the children's' ward. "Hey! You're heading the wrong way."

"Peanut." Aja warned. "Tool box."

"You're very mean to me today." I said and hunkered down on her shoulder.

Instead of the fun children's ward, she went to a new place with people sitting at different tables eating. For the moment the kids were forgotten as I focused in on this new nirvana. I looked at the tables we passed. There was food on all of them.

Not that my human pet slowed down until she reached a back table that was in the corner of the cafe area. Flowers banked the walls making quite the picture if anyone cared to take one of Mami and Anya.

"Pretty ladies!" I launched myself to the chair back and over to Anya. She laughed when I hugged her head. She had a good laugh, it tickled my paws. Once I hugged my Anya I looked over at Mami. She didn't like it when I hugged her. So I hopped to the table and patted her hand gently to say hello.

"Aja, must you bring this monkey with you?" Mami asked my human pet.

"Peanut." Aja called and patted the chair next to her. "Come sit here, leave Miss Mami be." I did as she asked. I watched as she settled at the table and moved some stuff around to accommodate the waiter that suddenly appeared at the table with a plate of food for her. "Thanks, Adam." she said to the man who smiled before leaving the table. "Sorry I'm late." Aja said as she shifted in her chair. "Got caught up in some plans."

"You work too much, Aja." Mami said to her in a tone that I knew as one of caring and scolding.

"I know." My human pet said with a grin then looked towards Anya. "I am just mirroring my sister."

"Brat." Anya said to Aja with a smile.

"Sharing the love." Aja winked at Anya. I didn't understand why my human pet found what Anya said to be funny, but she did. I sat and watched them for a moment before I was distracted by a piece of fruit being set in front of me by Mami. A pleasant surprise. I picked up the orange and ate it watching the ladies eat their lunch while they talked.

"Maranya, I'd like to stop by on Saturday to come see Ayden and Andrew if I could."

"Of course, Mami. We would love to have you over." Anya told Mami with a smile. "The boys would love a visit from their Nana Mami."

"Children are blessings." Mami smiled.

"Da. They are." Anya smiled. "Tiring blessings."

"Wait till they start walkin'." My human pet grinned across the table at Anya. "They will be double the trouble."

"Bozhe moi." Anya sighed with a smile. "Don't curse me like that, Sestra moya." This confused me. I couldn't play with these tiny people, but it sounded like they were going to be trouble for Anya but they didn't seem unhappy about this potential trouble. "We already have miles of baby gates all over the Palazzo." Miles of baby gates" How big was this place where Anya lived anyway' Sounds like a place I could have a good time exploring. But I wasn't allowed to play with the tiny people yet.

"I want to play with the boys." I said and the ladies looked over at me. Aja laughed.

"I think Peanut wants to come too." she laughed. "Sorry buddy, the tiny people need to be a bit bigger before I can take you to see them."

"Why' I'm all adorable." I protested.

"No, Peanut. Stay where you are."

"You're all so mean." I protested again which made my human pet chuckle and pat me on the head.

"You just sit there, look all adorable and don't cause trouble, Peanut or it's the toolbox fer you."

"See" Very mean." I protested, but she slid me over half a roll with jam on it and she went back to conversing with Mami and Anya.

There was a lot of talk about the hospital, most of it I didn't understand. Something about Mami taking something over and there being a lot of work involved, and match making that Mami was doing around the hospital, along with fawning over the babies. More tiny people I wasn't allowed to see. It was no fair.

"Mami, you do understand that you probably won't see some of these children again." Aja reminded her with a smile.

"I know, Aja."

"She might, for wellness check-ups." Anya interjected.

"Fair point." Aja grinned then she popped a French fry into her mouth.

"I'd like to move Mr. Garfon to another department, if you have no objections, Maranya." Mami opened a file sitting near her salad.

"Oh?" Anya wiped her hands off and took the paper that Mami produced.

"That is a list of reasons I'd like for him to be moved." Mami said in her usual way while watching Anya read the paper, Aja who was just plain nosy was leaning over and reading the paper too.

"Promise me something?" Aja said with a grin as she resettled in her chair.

"What?" Anya asked glancing up from the paper.

"You'll never let them make a list of my screw-ups." Aja leaned back in her chair, I saw Anya smirk then.

"They wouldn't have enough paper." Anya said as she winked at Aja, then handed the paper to Mami. "I have no objections to the move."

By the time we left, it was mid afternoon. Aja checked her watch and headed in the direction of the marketplace. A place I knew as colorful, noisy and full of interesting things to look at. Aja headed to the blacksmith, then to the feed store. Neither place interested me at all. The black smith was loud and the feed store smelled weird.

The next place was more interesting. It was a glass blowers. There were wind chimes and sun catchers hanging all over the shop. Aja looked around for a while before selecting a blue wind chime from the back corner. While checking out, Aja swatted by paws when I tried to pick out my own wind chime. The shop keeper thought that was funny. I was not as amused.

The day went on, with me riding along with my favorite human pet. I was tired at the end of the day, how my human pet wasn't was beyond me. She was at her desk going though paperwork as I curled up on the couch and drifted off to sleep.
