She glanced around, some of the staff knew her by now. Mostly, she figured they viewed her as the crazy woman who came in to get the children riled up with her wild stories and more than a few treats.

But telling the children stories wasn't why she was here today. Something a little more selfish had led her to clinic today, something that she hadn't given a thought to since it happened all those years ago and had recently become a matter of some concern.

She stared at the hospital staff list. But one name kept popping out at her. Norbert Donnelly, M.D., F.A.A.D. - Head of Dermatology. Aja wasn't medically trained, but she wasn't stupid. She knew what Dermatology meant.

Since the conversation during the belly dancing lesson in the arena, Aja had been pinging it around in her head. Laser surgery could remove the scar. If not those exact words, Anya had said something very similar. Damn her crazy head for not being able to remember things word for word sometimes. She sat on the bench, and thought it over one more time.

That scar had been something she didn't regret getting. The fight she received it in, had been more than worth it. Protecting the innocent always was in her book. But the fight left her nearly dead, and that scar as a reminder of how close she had come to actually giving her life for something she believed in. Before now, the scar never bothered her, there had been no one to see it till recently. Correction, no one she had cared enough to try to hide it from till now.

And when she saw it in the mirror when she put on the belly dance costume, she tried to cover it up. She knew it was highly visible and something that would prompt some questions from her very well meaning family. More importantly, she saw the unspoken question in his eyes when he ran his hand over it. How the worry passed over his eyes. That was something she cared enough about to stop from happening.

Aja fidgeted a bit, then very slowly got up and approached the reception desk and Phyllia Hawkwood. The woman gave her a smile when she looked up. "Good morning, Aja. Here to entertain the children?" "Not today. Actually, Phyllia. Would it be possible to get an appointment with Dr. Donnelly' Anytime he has available is fine. I'll make it work." Aja rambled nervously. "Let's see what he has available." Phyllia was professional to the bone, if she was surprised, she didn't show it. "I'm seeing an opening on Wednesday at 2." "Wednesday at 2?" Aja looked around for a pen, but Phyllia was a step ahead of her, slipping a card on the desk in front of her. "Thanks." "You're very welcome, Aja." She glanced around and then headed out of the clinic. Come Wednesday, hopefully there would be a way to undo some of the damage that had been done all those years ago.
