Tormay Eludes

Ordinarliy a four to six hour ride on horseback, Topaz was kind enough to set up a stable portal to the event from RhyDin. The portal itself is large enough for carriages, for those that still wish to travel in extravagance.

The site for the ceremony is in the middle of a large field, a half mile irregular circle at the base of a hill, the other three sides bordered by the forest.

Inside the field is a fairy circle, a perfect circle of mushrooms. Folk tales say that a fairy circle grows where fairies have gathered and danced. Some stories say that the circles are gateways to the fairy realms, other say they are magic circles. In reality, it is just the natural pattern that mushrooms will grow in if left alone long enough.

This circle in particular must have been centuries old, a perfect circle of mushrooms nearly one hundred and fifty feet across. Most of the mushrooms themselves were only a few inches tall, and easily broken or damaged, but a few were huge, large enough to be used as chairs, and strong enough, too. While fairies may not have created this circle, Tormay and Topaz did strengthen it; the mushrooms would not likely be killed by any of the festivities.

Chairs would be set up so hopefully everyone would have a seat with a good view. Three tents would also be set up, one closed for the bride to get ready, the other two open, just covered, where the food would be served and the open bar would be stationed.

((Those doing decorations, flowers, music, setting up, cleaning up after, etc. should post here. Enjoy!))

Mira had been out and about early this day. She had to be at the Outback to accept the delivery of flowers for the wedding arrangements and then take them to the wedding site. Before she got to work on the arrangements, though, she stopped at the inn to place Tucker's delivery behind and under the bar for him to find later.

She arrived on site, pulling a cart behind her with everything in it she could possibly need and then some, and of course the flowers. Tormay had taken her to see the area before. Now it looked very different and already festive with the tents and chairs already placed. After a good look around she got to work and the day had progressed into late afternoon before she was satisfied that everything was just as it should be.

Pink and yellow were the colors Taneth and Tormay had requested for the decoration theme, and those were the colors Mira had limited the use of flowers to for everything except for the bride and groom. Yard upon yard of yellow and pink tulle, ribbons, and bouquets of pink stargazer lilies and yellow roses now decorated the aisle between chairs, the chair backs, the trellis arch and framed the stage and the dance floor. The buffet was brightened by smaller arrangements of stargazer lilies and yellow roses.

The bridal bouquet and those for maids of honor were waiting in a bucket of water in the bride's tent along with the boutonni'res for the gentlemen. For everyone but the bride and groom they to were made of stargazer lilies and yellow roses.

The groom's boutonni're held three small yellow rose blooms brightened with pristine white stephanotis.

For Taneth Mira had left two bouquets, one a more simple bouquet with shortened stems and bound with pink and white silk ribbons that Taneth could easily carry in one hand, the other a cascading arrangement to drape over her arm with a much larger pink and white bow. Both where put together with a multitude of stargazer lilies, white roses and stephanotis to be in equal parts white and pink.

In two large shallow bowls on pedestals, boutonni'res in one bowl and arrangements for wearing in the hair or on the wrist in the other bowl, all of various colors and flowers, waited to be picked by the guests should they so choose.

The spectral figure moved along. She left a few small tokens for certain guests. Onward to the presents table, she went!

What to give the happy couple" That was the dilemma! They already had almost everything under the sun! Possibly three honeymoon trips! What else could they want?" Or need? Then she smiled as she realized what she could do.

A large box was settled among the presents with the message, "To keep you warm," on the outer card A quilt made in the wedding ring pattern had been carefully folded and placed in the container with two matching pillow shams. Tied to a ribbon wrapped about the quilt was a silver unicorn.

On the card inside the box was written: Tie this charm to your bed. It will grant you happiness and a long life together. When your firstborn arrives, tie it to the baby's crib. It has carries a blessing of protection for those that cannot defend themselves.

Fondly,
