Good to their word, Scotty and Harold showed up at Riverview. They did not come unprepared to be baby-sitters, either; in fact, they came quite ready.
Admittedly, Harold might have gone a bit overboard.
There were books. Teddy bears. Toys, even, for the older kids who might be there. A bunch of the duckie-headed hooded towels for bathtimes, though that would be for the nurses to handle. All of them stuffed into a shoulderbag.
Then again, Scotty wasn't much better. He brought swaddling blankets. Burping towels. A whole bunch of onesies in newborn sizes from Mai's newest line, all in bright, gender-neutral greens and yellows and oranges.
Needless to say, the Lees came prepared.
