A letter addressed to the GAC in care of Governor Helston arrived.
It read as follows:
Dear Governor Helston, members of the GAC and Citizens of Rhydin,
I am beyond distressed to learn of mischief and mayhem taking place in the vicinity of the new Rhydin Carousel, that my wife and I have recently created and given to the City.
I would like to inform the Council that steps were taken while the carousel was being created and built and after the installation of the carousel, but before it was revealed to the public on the night of July 11th, at the Save the Small Business Carneval fundraiser to ensure that such actions of evil intent would be warded off from, and therefore not take place, in and around and concerning the carousel. These safeguards have also been reiterated to the public.

At no time upon its creation or construction or as a gift to the City, did my wife and I envision the carousel to be used for anything but good. We have made that clear in all our efforts to build a safe and secure work of art and entertainment for the citizens of Rhydin. We did, in fact, take particular pains and expend considerable effort to make sure that this would never happen, including warding the entire carousel as a whole, and each part of it, plus the building and the land it all sits upon, with magicks to make it so.
Hopefully, a public warning decrying this event, such as this letter, will be all that is necessary to ensure that the carousel continues to be played upon as we intended it, for the goodness and happiness of all.
If there is anything outstanding businesswise between my wife and I and the City to complete the gifting process, please feel free to let me know. (Please note, again, that the carousel is self-operational, fitted with a big red GO button on the wall, that when pressed, will start it up and give a ride of approximately ten minutes, before automatically shutting it down again.) We do intend to check on it periodically to ensure it is working well and ensure it is being maintained. Any cost involved with that, as stated before, will be the responsibility of myself and my wife.
