Isuelt DeRomiano had finally, if not subconsciously begrudgingly, made her way to the Governor's offices. In the last several months, it had become increasingly clear to the Scathachians that they would need some sort of aid in clearing the WestEnd of whatever foul stench hovered menacingly over the area. Headway was being made, jail cells were fuller, less petty crime was being made (or at least reported) and nights seemed quieter in the city's southwest corner.

One thing, however, was more than certain. And folks besides the Scathachians could smell it coming: Night was far from over for the WestEnd. Isuelt knew that the Scathachians had been trained for this exact purpose, though she also knew that there was something she couldn't quite put her finger on. This is what made her feel so uneasy. If there was one thing she couldn't come to terms with, it was her own inadequacies. The Priestesses of the Goddess of War were stretched to the limits, they were wearing themselves extremely thin. Isuelt had come to a decision.

It was time to make peace with the City Watch.

Isuelt had borne an unlikely grudge toward the guards ever since she was used as the scapegoat and imprisoned when the trouble in the WestEnd started. She imagined the distaste to run evenly on both sides, as she and her Sisters were watched more carefully than average citizens by the members of the Watch. It was only after the prompting from a small newspaper, which produced an editorial article about how the Scathachians and the City Watch must come together to form an alliance if the city was ever to emerge from the darkness which threatened to engulf it. Two forces banding as a common light against this threat would surely be better than pulling in opposite directions.

The Scathachians had taken the advice of some of the city officials and started easing up on their brand of "justice," at least publicly. No more did they see themselves as Judge, Jury and Executioner. There were other avenues here, this was not the vigilante-style of vengeance that was called for. In Rhydin, there were more weapons at their disposal: jail cells, courts and questioning. Everyone was fishing for a greater prize than the common thief; they were fishing for the master behind the corruption.

Isuelt made her way into the Governor's front office and announced herself, "I am Isuelt DeRomiano. I don't have an appointment, but I'd like to speak with the Governor. Or, at the very least, I'd like to make an appointment to speak with her." She knew that Kitty's office was coming to an end, but she didn't know who was to follow her. And what was more of an urging, she didn't know if she would be able to trust them like she did Kitty.
