The Governor issued the following statement on Wednesday morning, August 24th:

Good morning.

There has been much speculation about the events that took place on Sunday evening following the costume party at the Fine Arts Festival. While it is understandable that people are anxious in light of the recent struggle with the Benghu fever outbreak, I am here this morning to lay those fears to rest.

A very limited number of emergency personnel were exposed to an unknown substance following the evacuation of party-goers. No one else present at the event who left before the attack was exposed. Analysis of the compound released by the assailants at the event has shown that it is not RBF.

Let me repeat this: It was not the RhyDin Benghu Fever virus.

While additional analysis is still being conducted, I can assure you that each person who was exposed has been given the very best medical care and attention.

In the meantime, the Watch and private security contractors are working diligently to conclusively identify the individuals who were involved in the attack and to bring them to justice. Because this is an on-going endeavor, a certain amount of discretion must be used in the information made available to the public at this time. However, you can be sure that everything possible is being done towards this end.

Thank you.
