The following announcement was made by the Governor via press release:

The Governor's Service Medal award program is designed to recognize people who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to serve our community by showing exemplary commitment, hard work and dedication. The recipients of this honor strive - sometimes in extreme circumstances - to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to the communities of Rhydin and Stars End.

The past month was extremely busy, full of festivals and other activities. I am pleased to announce that an astounding eleven individuals are being awarded this recognition for the month of October, for hosting various of these events. I hope that you will join me in applauding each of these for the example they have shown to us all.

Our first two recipients pulled off a spectacular city-wide event to celebrate the anniversary of The RhyDin Post that generated tremendous enthusiasm and no small amount of revenue for the paint ball manufacturers throughout the area. Congratulations to Darien Fenner (DarienFenner) and his wife, Colleen (PrlUnicorn), first for the anniversary of the Post, and second for the success of their party. A great deal of hard work went into it and they should be proud of the results.

Five individuals were involved in this next event, the Blood Moon Festival hosted by Coven Bristle Crios. Excellent food, festive pumpkins, drinks of all sorts and a number of games made up the evening for those who attended. Such an event necessitated the involvement and hard work of a group, and those involved did a splendid job. Congratulations to Yasmin (Yasmin), Angel (AngelofDeath), Nikia O'Neill (Creative Creation), Christine Cain (BardofCain) and Miranda Branson (Miranda Branson) for putting on a fantastic evening of autumnal fun.

Proof that a party doesn't have to be fancy to capture the fancy of some, the next recipients for the month put together a caravan that trekked up into the hills outside of the city for a day of outdoor activity and a night of heavy drinking around a campfire. As I hear it, there was a distinct lack of axe murderers in attendance, but aside from that one shortcoming, everyone had a great time. Thank you for your hard work on this activity, A. L. Harper (ALHarper) and Yeardley Owens (YeardleyOwens).

Our final recipients for the month staged the city's Fright Night event in observance of Halloween. A hayride, pumpkin carving, ghouls and a haunted maze were some of the attractions on hand for those who were brave enough to attend. Thank you to Katt Rhysata (Katt) and her chipper assistant, Fiora Shantalaine (Fiora Shantalaine), for a Halloween the city is still talking about!

Kudos to all of our Governor's Service Medal recipients for October!

Governor Helston al-Amat,

While I appreciate the recognition and honor you have bestowed upon me, all I did was cater the event. It was the hard work of The Post staff that should be rewarded not just the chef. Emmet Bane, in particular, widely promoted and was MC for CYC. Kazzy his co-host, as well Chase Dawson, who was clad in multicolored paint by the evening's end, and Paige Connelly collectively deserve this honor.

In light of this, I hope you will not object to the medal being displayed at The Post's offices among the publication's other awards.

Sincerely,

Colleen MacLeod-Fenner
