The following announcement was made by the Governor via press release:

The Governor's Service Medal award program is designed to recognize people who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to serve our community by showing exemplary commitment, hard work and dedication. The recipients of this honor strive - sometimes in extreme circumstances - to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to the communities of Rhydin and Stars End.

December was a busy month around RhyDin, and as a result, the list of recipients is a lengthy one. Please join me in applauding each of these for the example they have shown to us all.

For their assistance and hard work during Winterfest - ranging from hosting events, to building the Ice Palace, to directing traffic and everything in between - please join me in thanking the following individuals: Risa Jones, Elessaria Devabriel, Amaltea thu-Darelir, Katt Rhysata, Yasmin, Bayliss Cartier, Rekah Illyriana, Gemethyst, Johnny Smith and Tasselhofl Momus. Winterfest was four amazing days of frosty fun because of you!

While this next event was not technically within the borders of RhyDin, any number of our citizens participated in the swimsuit contest held in the neighboring realm of Adenna, and all of the reports were so enthusiastic that the organizer deserved recognition for all of his hard work. Unfortunately, intelligence has reached our offices recently that the man we were to honor with a service medal has passed away. So it is with sadness that we present this award posthumously to Dyarkh. Rest in peace.

It isn't every day a new industry successfully launches in RhyDin - and certainly nothing so exciting as our first film production and movie premier! But 21twelve Studios accomplished just that. A Murder of Crowes is not likely to be the last thing we'll see coming out of this group of creative people. It isn't possible to thank everyone involved with the production, so recognition is being given to two of the key forces behind the film: Lelah Rivka and Jonathan Granger - Bravo!

And last, but certainly not least, we were treated in December with an innovative new service from none other than Andu Kirost for his new train service between the RDI and central points throughout the city. A truly excellent idea! (Be sure to tip your conductor!)

Kudos to all of our Governor's Service Medal recipients for December!
