A letter arrived at the Governor's office, addressed of course to the current Governor elect, Mr. Matthew Simon. The letter came in a plain white business envelope decorated in lots of sparkly stickers. The letter within the envelope itself is clearly written in black magic marker, and reads as follows:

Also enclosed with the letter is what appears to be a Buy One Get One Free coupon for slurpees at the nearest 7-Eleven. The question is whether or not there happens to be just such a convenient store in the greater Rhydin area.

Dear Ehzoterik,

Thank you for your letter, your congratulations and the enclosed gift; I look forward to the treat! It's always good to hear from the city's populace, regardless of praise or criticism.

You're quite correct in that I did not spend a lot of time in the debate or in my follow-up speech detailing plans of my own, mainly because I've already laid out several plans in recent months and I did not want to re-hash the same information. Rest assured that I very nearly always seek input from Rhydin's citizens on my ideas prior to implementing them. I have found that plans and ideas work much more effectively if they've vetted with varying viewpoints and opinions beforehand. I always strive to ensure that what I'm doing is best for Rhydin and its population, be it citizen or visitor.

You wrote that you don't believe I did much during my first term as Governor ? I respectfully disagree with that opinion. For instance, improvements were made to the City Guard both in training and equipment, the RASG was established and new trade routes were opened. There's more on the agenda this upcoming year, including the creation of a sister group to the RASG that will primarily ensure the safety of the waters surrounding our city.

There were also many smaller, lesser visible improvements that I helped to institute over this last year. If you like, I invite you down to the Governor's office so that you can review these items in greater detail as nearly all are part of the public record. If there are specific concerns that you have, I'd be more than happy to listen and discuss them with you.

I look forward to speaking with you in person!

Sincerely,

Matthew Algiers Simon

Lo and behold! Yet another letter arrived for the Governor. This one is clearly written in purple magic marker and reads as follows:

Dear Ehzoterik,

Thank you, again, for your letter. Regarding the trade route information, there's quite a bit to sift through, likely easier done here or in the Library. However, if you want copies for personal persual at your leisure, we can certainly provide them for you.

As to your second question: it entirely depends on the form of each, but I've been known to consume both with, as my wife would put it, much gusto.

I do hope that I meet you in person soon!
