Was it merely coincidence that a month or so after Fire Prevention Week, there was a rash of fires in Rhy'Din, mostly in Seaside and Dockside? Maybe, but this was Rhy'Din, and Johnny knew very little was left to chance. So far, the Old Temple District had been spared, but the Fire Brigade and Watch Divisions were on high alert.

While Johnny was on paternity leave, he had told the Chief to let him know if he was needed, not only in the Old Temple District, but anywhere in Rhy'Din. After all, fire was his expertise, and there were few in Rhy'Din better at controlling fire than the Torch.

And so, with that in mind, he sent the following message to his friend, unofficial mentor, and former teammate, who now happened to be Governor of Rhy'Din ...

Ebon, It's come to my attention that there's been a rash of fires in Rhy'Din. I'm currently on leave of absence, as Liv is due to give birth any day now, but please let me know if my help is needed. You know how to reach me. Always happy to help. Johnny
