Alio Atreides

When Alio enter the building it was as if he had stepped out of the heat of some desert storm not the cold of RhyDin winter. Throwing back his hood exposing light golden copper skin and a tight trimmed full beard and mustache, and shaking his head to loosen his nape length dark brown hair the light catching its mahogany highlights, and pushing his cloak backward to either side revealing a black if any would recognize it still suit of the deep Arrakis desert, allowing his signature cologne a pleasing mixture of leather and musk with hints of vanilla and cinnamon light to draw in someone smelling it, into the surrounding air, as his midnight blue in royal blue eyes scanned the lobby he uncaps the tube at his throat and took a few sips before recapping it and walking to the centrally located desk, his stride confident just short of arrogant spoke of a warrior and nobility if not royalty, his face stern and demeaning but with only two steps remaining, remembering where he was not, his featured relaxed and a warm smile crossed his face, a smile with just a hint of seduction. Waiting to gain the attention of the young lady behind the desk leaning slightly forward and making eye contact he spoke his voice deep and smooth with a mellowness that reminded one of jazz, "Hello my name is Alio Atreides and I would like to speak to whoever is in charge here."

"O'lleh, o'lia!" The blonde behind the desk chirped when he approached and introduced himself. "Are you going scuba diving" That's 'A'bucs' in the wonderous tongue of Barbara's people. Although, they may not have an actual word for that. I'm not sure if Barbara's clan scubas..." She considered this a moment, while her nose twitched. "You smell like snickerdoodles."

She was quiet for what probably felt like a long time, pondering cookies. Then she came back around to his question.

"Right here, I am in charge. This is the reception desk." She ran her hand along it proudly, smiling and picking up a little green troll toy and holding it up. When she squeezed the rubber plaything, its eyes popped. "And this is Mister Peepers. He's my assistant. What can we do for you?"

"No I'm not going scuba diving and I could see where I might smell like?"..snicker-doodles if I understand that to be some kind of baked goods." Alio replied, knowing that vanilla and cinnamon were two common spices in baking but they were in his cologne for a different reason, a slight laugh added to his voice at her innocent humor.

During her prolonged silent Alio admired her innocent beauty and thought to himself for what value it might be to him in the future.

As she explained what she was in charge of and introduced her assistant, a look came to his face that was of confused amazement "I meant in charge of the community an elder, head of a governing council, mayor, governor some sort of official who could help in with permits for a new business issue.?

"Official Fio business!" Jesse proclaimed upon entering the lobby through one of the many offices. Within her hand was her new, shiny, and oh so grand Vice Admiral of the RhyDin Watch Coast Guard Division badge. A badge that was soon enough clipped against her huge belt.

"I hear this man seeks an official who may help him with permits! You are in luck, good ser, for I am just that! If you would be so kind to follow me into mine office." The witch in the admirals coat said while gesturing off to the side. A sweeping point to the room she had appeared from.

"As for you. I demand cookies and a side dish of melted cheese to be waiting for me once our business is through." Her words directed to Daisy.

Daisy jumped to her feet, snapping to attention and executing a sharp salute. "Aye-aye, Larimda!" She held the pose before snapping her arm down at a jaunty angle suitable for a USO tour.

"And you!" she pointed to Alio, raising the troll toy again and squeezing its belly until the bugging eyes were distended to their fullest. "Do not poop on her decks! She doesn't like that. Mister Peepers is watching you."

Once inside the office and behind closed doors, Alio thought to himself 'This woman is not the typical human in some waysshe reminds me of the Bene Gesserit that trained me from my earliest days.' He thought about trying the voice just to see if it would it have its controlling effect on her or would she have an immunity either developed or inherited to it, this was neither the time nor place to find out. Before sitting in one of the chairs on the guest side of the desk he gave a half bow of respect once seated he spoke with his usual jazz like voice the same smile on his face "Your receptionist is an interesting young lady," then after sipping from the tube at the color of his still suit added, ?My name is Alio Atreides may I ask, how should I address you by what title.

"Yes, she is mine wife." Jesse said in a matter-of-fact sort of way. She even cleared her throat for a nice `ahem` to add into the mix.

Jesse climbed onto her rolling chair then. Turning herself about to rest butt-first against it, followed with her leaning to grab hold of the lever...and then, with a quick release of air, that chair of hers shot up enough so that a good half of her small form was now visible from her side of the desk.

"You will address me by mine title. Admiral. As it is mine by right." She said in a calm manner. Lips pulling back to expose shark-like teeth.

"Eye'm recalling your need...yoooou.." She let the Oo sound roll off her tongue. "Need a permit' You have a need and I have a want. I want to know what you need it for."

As the admiral adjusted her seat Alio sipped from the tube at his still suit collar then spoke, there was something about his voice a quality that was normally found in either a high ranking warrior or royalty, "Admiral, I wish to open a training center in what I believe is called the Market Place, where I will be teaching mostly Fremen Kempo a form of martial arts from my birth world of Arrakis, " then as if an afterthought added, "as well as a few other forms. I want to do everything legally so I'm inquiring about any permits I may need." After a brief silent adding "As I am new to the area and unfamiliar with the local currency would it be acceptable to make any payment in gemstones."

After another sip at his collar tube of his still suit Alio added "I do have a question, while exploring a desert to the south of here I found a cavern that I wish to use as a home for myself and my pets, is there any laws against doing so."

"Oh.." She sounded disappointed with this discovery of what the permit was for. There was a moment of awkward pause from her whilst she simply stared at the man across from her. Slowly, eyes squinted more and more - to the point where it could be hard to guess if she was even looking through her eyelids now.

Though they did pop back open at the talks of gemstones. "Are they blue? The gemstones. Blue gemstones, in my humble and great opinion, are the best of them all."

She'd then reach over to grab her styrofoam cup of hot cocoa. A sip taken.

"As for the desert and cavern...Such things are none of my concern, you may use that as you see fit. Though I suggest using the damp, darkness of the cavern to grow mushrooms."

Another sip of her drink, then a look around her desk. She'd kick away from the desk, causing that wheels on her chair to start turning as she propelled herself backward. A twist, the chair turning so that she'd be facing away from the man. Foot rose up again, this time knocking platform boot against a nearby file cabinet; and also making damn sure she didn't go slamming into chair-first.

"Permit, permit, permit~♪" Jesse hummed in a sing song voice. Searching, then finding what she was looking for. Kicking away from the cabinet. Her chair once more zooming across the room. This time she'd slam chest first against the desk. A soft squeak of a grunt in pain, but she was grinning either way.

"HERE!" Barking out. She'd slam the piece of paper down. There was a bunch of words in some language or other, followed with squiggly lines...and at the bottom there was a drawing of a robed figure brooding in the corner. Jesse pointed to the blank, underlined are at the bottom.

"Sign your name here." Then a point to the small box beside it. "and I will need your bloody thumbprint here."

"You pay me mine four blue gems, and you will have your permit to open whatever you see fit."

Reaching for a pouch on his belt and opening it Alio poured a handful of gemstones in a multitude of colors into his palm removing 4 and placing them on the desk next to the papers and returning the rest to the pouch and the pouch to its place on his belt, two the same midnight blue of his eyes and two the royal blue color of what would have been the whites of his eyes, each gemstone cut and polished and of a one carat size

. "As you requested four blue gemstone," Alio said as he signed his name "my signature," then removing the crysknive from his belt used the sandworm tooth blade to make a small cut on his left thumb and rubbed the blood on his right thumb pressing it down on the indicated box "and thumb print in blood." the cut having already stopped bleeding.

"It has been a pleasure doing busniss with you admiral, I'm sure I will be seeing you around"
