Press release issued by the Governor's Office on Thursday, August 4:

A recent news item circulated via the Nexus Newstream network today suggested that there was an attempt by the Governor or her staff to withold information about the RhyDin Benghu Fever (RBF) outbreak in the city. Governor al-Amat stated in a press release early this afternoon that there is absolutely no foundation in fact to this allegation.

"My office has done everything in its power to ensure that the proper medical personnel and emergency workers were notified as soon as the diagnosis of RBF was confirmed. This included communication with the StarsEnd Port Authority on Sunday morning. The public announcements followed within three hours of the confirmation of disagnosis and subsequent emergency management meetings that same day. Every effort was made to communicate early while including all pertinent information, to avoid creating a public panic."

"The welfare of the City, its inhabitants and visitors are of the utmost concern to me and to this office. We will continue to provide updates as they become available, and will continue to work with medical personnel throughout the city to ensure that sufficient vaccine is available and accessible to all who desire it."
