A motion was made during the GAC meeting to allocate funds raised during the 2010 Business Gala toward the establishment of an agency for the support of small businesses in RhyDin. These funds would be placed in an interest-bearing account and would be suppplemented in the future by contibutions from both private sources and future gala events.

Several ideas have been submitted for the principle purpose and use of these funds and the Governor's Office is soliciting the public's opinion about them. The options are:

1. Small Business Start-up Grants - Monetary grants to be awarded to entrepreneurs who have presented project plans for a new business venture deemed to be viable.

2. Small Business Emergency Fund - Monetary assistance to be given to existing small businesses who have experienced the loss of buildings or resources as a result of a natural disaster (fire, flood, storm, earthquake, meteor bombardment) or incidence of realm violence (terrorist attacks, destruction by monsters of unknown origin). The intent of the grant would be restoration of lost property or productivity with the goal of continuing the enterprise; i.e. recipients would not be allowed to take the money and close the business.

3. Small Business Loan Service - Lending program disbursing funds to new or existing small businesses on a repayment schedule.

Please indicate your preference of use by responding to the poll question.
