In the early hours of the morning, pair large ships arrived at the harbor of Rhydin. The smaller of the duo, a two masted brig sailed into port while the larger, a large frigate, anchored a slight bit off shore.

The men of both ships were under orders to stay aboard while a single messenger stepped down from the ramp and onto the dock. After speaking with a dockhand, he travelled quickly along the roads until coming to the Governors Office.

He politely waited until such time as the Governor would see him, and when she does, he smiles politely, informs her of by whom he was sent, and simply hands over a letter.

Upon opening, the letter reads:

————————-

Governess Helston,

I hope this letter finds you in fine health and good fortune. Allow me to again congratulate you on your victory. But, on to business.

When I was campaigning for the office of Governor, I had promised to do everything within my power to ensure security not only on land, but also on sea. Protecting Rhydin has always been one of my highest priorities and I also swore, publicly, to continue to do so had I not won.

To demonstrate my dedication of this, I present to you the first gifts to the Office of the Governor to help ensure the protection of Rhydin.

If you will take the time to notice in the Port of Rhydin there are two new ships. One is a Brigantine and the other a Frigate. Both are strong ships and have, currently, a well trained crew. Each ship has enough members to run at a satisfactory level of performance. In order to improve this, I suggest signing members from the Rhydin Guard or others interested in seafaring.

Included with the officers are four Quartermasters who are strong disciplinarians, as well as gifted trainers who will teach recruits the arts of sailing successfully.

For armaments, the Frigate, Hammerhead, is captained by Captain Ivon Schmidt and has thirty eight cannon, the Brig, Forestor, Captain Viktor Tabaracci, twenty eight cannon. Each have skilled gunners able to train new recruits as well.

I advise on keeping each ships captain as they know their ship and crew exceptionally well. This makes for a decided advantage for the City and Country fo Rhydin.

There is an added technology to these ships, which I am hesitant to write about. However, it will "even the odds" should you come across any overpowering "space ship" type of opposition. If you wish to know more about this item, you may either contact me again, or speak with Viktor. Both captains have been told they can trust you, and will work with you as closely as need be.

If you've any questions or requests, feel free to contact me at your convienence.

Thank you and again, congratulations. Baron G'nort Dragoon-Talanador ————————————————

After waiting for the Governess to read through the letter, the messenger stood and waited for instructions.
