Citizens of Rhydin,

Once again, I heartily thank you for your support and welcome; you've chosen me to represent your interests as Governor and I am most grateful for the opportunity. I have officially taken over the Governor's mantle from Kitty Helston and have been spending the last several days pouring over city records, treatises, and the most recent wave of criminal activity.

I have been frequently asked for my opinions on the No Confidence petition and its supporters. I do understand and respect the opinions of those who created and supported that petition; it is my sincere hope that I can restore the confidence in those citizens. I bear Captain Kidd no grudge or ill-will and will not sanction him in any way. I welcome a dialogue between this office and those who believe it shouldn't exist. For any who wish to talk, my doors are open.

Regarding matters of security, plans are already in motion. Shortly, officers of the Watch, independent consultants, and myself will begin to plan and implement new training regimen designed to increase efficiency and better protect the city and its inhabitants. You will likely see an increased security presence on the waters and in the skies as new types of patrols are put in place. Rest assured these steps are not the beginnings of a military regime or anything similar; rather, I want to increase the opportunities we have to prevent repeats of events like the Marketplace bombing. New techniques, better equipment, and new training protocols will, I hope, start us along that path. I also hope to work in conjunction with other groups, such as the Templars led by Karen Wilder, as cooperation can only foster a more secure and prosperous city.

By next month, I hope to be thoroughly familiar with the city's budget and economic status so we can begin making headway in that area as well. Please feel free to direct any inquiries or questions to my office; if anyone wishes to stop by and talk in person, appointments are available.

Thank you again for your votes and your support.
